Our military is not strong enough to defend the country, it's the most underfunded in the entire NATO. If one day the US decided they didn't want to be our allies anymore, we would be free to conquer.

Our infrastructure (be it road infrastructure, rail infrastructure, energy infrastructure, telecommunications infrastructure, etc.) is even worse than that of the US. Consummer protection is abysmal. Workers' rights are dogshit. We have a major shortage of qualified professionals in a plethora of different fields. Spying and surveillance here is just as bad as in any other anglo country.
