What went wrong?
Levi Cooper
David Russell
Germanic sissies tried to colonize the bear and failed. Classic mistake
Levi Mitchell
Tons of shit, way too much to list:
>German overextension of their forces
>Underestimation of Russian forces
>Disagreement over attacking Moscow or going for the Baku oil fields
>Lack of winter preparation
>German generals willfully ignoring oil shortage issue
>Foolishly believing the USSR was a "rotten house" that would collapse once they were attacked
>Foolishly believing Stalin would just ragequit if Moscow was taken
>Poor Japanese-German "alliance" (the two actually didn't give much of a fuck about each other) didn't really work out
>Meanwhile the US is shipping tons of supplies to the USSR, allies working together
It goes on and on
Jaxson Ramirez
This, the only chance Hitler had was to finnish it early as shit
Julian Moore
The only possible way I think Hitler could have won, and this is an extremely unlikely outcome, would be if he had a massive thrust towards the oil fields in Southern Russia, ignoring all that Moscow and Leningrad bullshit. That would strangle the USSR of oil and make it far more difficult for them to fight, while also giving Germany oil to continue the war
Jace Phillips
This would still overexstend them, though it is the best shot they have. Somehow making the UK sign an armistice would help out massively aswell, clearing out many troops from the western front plus scandinavia for the eastern front
Adam Collins
He should have reached for a deal with the Brits and finish shit with the frogs
There is also the fact that the luftwaffe was not going to beat the royal air force
And Italy was at least 3 to 4 years before being remotely ready for a major war
Grayson Brown
>He should have reached for a deal with the Brits and finish shit with the frogs
Never going to happen. Churchill declared war on Hitler and refused to accept any armistice.
Colton Allen
Imblying the us wouldnt just supply the ussr with oil. Even if germany did fix its oil problems it doesnt fix its manpower problems, and the fact the ussr has more tonks already built.
Landon James
Unless the Kriegsmarine could completely dominate any route the US ships use to reach Russia across the Atlantic east of the GI UK gap.
Oil could still arrive is Vladivostok but that is way too far away for the Russians to easily use. It would have to be shipped west
Ryder Martinez
and the Germans couldn't have won any major victories over the UK to force them to surrender
they couldn't even make it across the channel.
Ryder Gutierrez
>undialectical shits got heemed
Nothing went wrong
James Wood
>Unless the Kriegsmarine could completely dominate.
The kriegsmarine was total trash.
Jaxon Rogers
they could have continued to bomb the shit out of them until there were no brits left, doing the world a favor.
Henry Myers
The luftwaffe was crippled. And couldnt really do anything to the bongs.
Brayden Mitchell
at the same time the Brits were hammering German cities and doing way more damage
Germans just killed civies
Christian Anderson
>Germans just killed civies
Good
John Carter
Retards broke the alliance too soon.
He could have instead attacked and invaded Spain to get at Gibraltar and used the Italian Navy to secure the Western Med and then get to the otherside of Gibraltar and station Luftwaffe on both sides.
Then, he could have persuaded Stalin to invade Turkey in an effort for a joint occupation of Constantinople, and then used that to build some nice bridges, and then marched to Suez.
And locked down the Med from the British. All the while throwing research into radar, anti air artillery radar guided fuse shells, and atom bombs.>>Poor Japanese-German "alliance" (the two actually didn't give much of a fuck about each other) didn't really work out
And this. The Japanese could have done something like blockade Vladivostok and prevent 2 million tons of supplies from reaching the USSR but noooo....
Leo Sanchez
No, attacking the USSR was futile and suicidal. They were never going to beat the place down fast enough to prevent D-Day and North African based strategic bombing from being a thing.
Christopher Price
There was no way they weren't going to war, it was necessary ideologically. And the USSR was only getting stronger.
There wasn't much else the Germans could have done they dug themselves into the hole before the war even begun.
Lincoln Roberts
What? No- I wrote they had a poor alliance because it practically wasn’t an alliance at all. After the Khalkin Gull skirmish where the Japanese got their asses kicked by the soviets there was nothing that would convince them to attack the ussr. They even let us ships supplying the ussr pass through without harm because they did not want to risk provoking the soviets. They didn’t give a flying shit about Germany fighting Russia, just as the Germans didn’t give a fuck that they helped train the Chinese against the Japanese a few years earlier.
They weren’t friends at all and shared no goals and often worked against each other. None of that ‘japan attacks or harassed the ussr’ stuff is remotely plausible
