Intresting...
Carpenter's Agreement
On March 22, 1915, the Sultan of Sulu, Hadji Mohammad Jamalul Kiram, in behalf of his adherents and people of the Sulu Archipelago, signed in Zamboanga, a mutual agreement with the Governor General, represented by the governor of the Department of Mindano and Sulu, Frank W. Carpenter, renouncing his sovereignty over the Sulu archipelago.

The Sultan agreed “without any reservation and limitation whatsoever, ratifies and confirms his recognition of the sovereignty of the United States of America, and the exercise by his excellency the Governor General and the representatives of the government in Mindanao and Sulu”.

Jones law/Tydings Mcduffy
Despite the campaign against the 'one Philippines model', the United States granted independence to the Philippines, effectively giving control of Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago to the Filipino government in Manila.

During the dictatorship era, Sulu was one of the provinces that fought back against Ferdinand Marcos as hundreds of Moros were tortured, killed, and exterminated during the era. The Marcos dictatorship used the Moro National Liberation Front as an excuse to bombard the Islamic areas of Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago. The Sultan of Sulu, members of the royal family, and the leaders of Sulu were in favor of the People Power Revolution in Manila that toppled the dictatorship.

Out of 3 trillion of our national budget, 400 billion goes to debt repayments. Most of our debts were incurred during the Marcos era and we are still paying and will continue to pay for those debts in the foreseeable future.

Marcos had a lot of overpriced projects that his fanatics praised him for without thinking of the repercussions for undergoing such projects.

Take the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant as an example. It had a similar sister plant in Korea. The Koreans paid only $300M for theirs; we paid over $1B for ours.

Marcos didn't care about the future of the country. He was busy making himself and his cronies rich by borrowing money left and right for his overpriced government projects. The kickbacks were simply too lucrative to pass up.

>Oh shit nigga what are you fucking doing picking a fight with da joos
Smells like the Joos giving free gibs to Mamakman under the pretence of "who's money is this?" I bet you its just bribe money to make this country Pro-West again. What's a couple of billion dollars anyways for the Joos? They could just print it and justify to the world by backing up the "Petro"US Dollar with illegal Ayyrab oil.
>We don't have the ships not men to cover that entire area unless you want to force conscription.
What's wrong with force conscription? Made younger Malaysians less of a literal sissy faggot. Or you could make those battle hardened Sulu's or Moros as part of the Army. Its not like Flipflops will give a shit if the most poverty stricken region get given away.

>Pro-West again
We have always been Pro west when investment are concerned, China only dominates in major construction work like railways and hydro dams, Dutch,Japan,Singapore,Saudi dominates the rest. Even the Pengerang RAPID is owed to Saudi pimp daddy giving away 7billion USD to get us on their side. A few billion is chump change if there are strategic purpose like giving Egypt's Sisi billions upon billions enough to buy and operate Mistral class since Suez canal is highly important but unless they want Malaysia to host an American base I don't see the point of giving Madey few billions.
Well unless Madey is really desperate for money, the rumour of crude price going down soon will crash all PH tax plans since all the populist acts relies on high crude price.
>What's wrong with force conscription
Terrible quality for peacekeeping work, look at those jumpy Israeli conscripts who went guns blazing whenever they get jumpy. Expensive too when all security expansion is now on hold.
Natural state of human tribalism.

>relies on high crude price

Trivia: kwek-kwek is originally just balut fried and wrap in flour and was accidentally invented when a balut vendor in Cubao dropped her merchandise. Not wanting to waste what remained of the balut, she peeled off the shells, rolled the eggs in flour, and fried them. Kwek-kwek supposedly refers to bird chirps.

Other stories mention that the kwek-kwek was originally known as toknanay. Tokneneng, on the other hand, allegedly came from the 1978 Pinoy komiks series Batute. In this series, the main character Batute has his own language and he refers to eggs as tokneneng.

We import cheaper crude from ME for refining and use while exporting our higher priced crude with low sulphur content. Usually crude from under the sea has higher quality compared to ones extracted from the ground.
Budget 2018 was made with MoF estimating low crude price but the unexpected recovery will be plugging the loss of tax monies for this year but I don't see anything positive for the coming year. GST or no GST the same retailers and food operators will katok the customers all the same and with the law on local cook they will just hire bangla behind the door while charging extra because 'supporting locals'.

To perpetuate his stay in power Marcos used and exploited Communism. Also, to get more money or aid from the United States, Marcos cited, in a meeting with a visiting US politician, the danger of predatory states such as Russia and China. In other words, he expertly used crisis strategy to get more power and money.

In 1974, Marcos proved himself to be nothing but a deeply crooked, power-lusting demagogue when he allowed, despite keeping his rubber stamp Congress and a sycophantic Supreme Court, the Parity Rights Agreement with America to expire. The expiration of this deal forced American companies and industrialists who helped build our post-war economy out of this country. As a result of America's exodus from the Philippines, Marcos cronies and dummies thrived and then effectively monopolized the country's economy.

This Bell Trade Act was the sole reason from the 1950s to early 1970s. Marcos inherited a resilient economy. We were, in effect, the Singapore in Asia during this period.

Marcos's refusal to renew the Parity Rights Agreement with the US, or to amend the economic provisions in the 1972 Constitution in order to secure a more liberalized economy that should have been more responsive to global economic trends during that period, made our economy semi-closed and one of the most protectionist in the region.

From late 1970s to the 80s, China, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan started liberalizing their economic policies to allow global investors.

After Marcos betrayed America to enrich himself by allowing his cronies to monopolize the country's economy, American companies and investors started heavily trading and doing business with Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, SK, Taiwan, and even China.

This is one of the main reasons our economy started to collapse in the late 1970s when Marcos decided to keep the PROTECTIONIST economic provisions in his own Charter to benefit himself and his cronies.

>LITERALLY voting in a gibsmedats fascist dictator

>unless they want Malaysia to host an American base I don't see the point of giving Madey few billions.
You forgot one thing, Kra Canal. If Madey is even more of a pro-west than Jibby, China might as well put Malaysia out of its One Belt One Road Initiative and build the damn canal which will literally kill anything south of Thailand.
At this rate the PH goverment will scrap Carey Island Port and Malacca Gateway project to instead build a new mega canal project in Thailand and we will in turn get fucked.
Those Joos in power in the West won't like their little Chinkapoor pet get the worst dog food now would they? Who would be the best bulletproof jacket for chinkapoor in a theoretical WW3 scenario before any kind of response can be taken by the US and its allies?
Will the canal be profitable to us?
And when it is clear it does not, will we seat idle by and watch every sheckels slip from our hands?
((((they)))) have every reason to want us on their side.

More into the Thai Canal:
