If you think people should be hated because of what their ancestors did you're no better than your average 'muh slavery' roodypoo.

I love Vietnam

vietnam is pretty cool
keep up the good work guys
Ethan Torres
Dude, I never said people "should be hated".
I just said that people do tend to hate people for things that happened before their lifetime, exactly like the 'muh slavery' roodypoo.
Learn to fucking read.

Vietnam is just another failed cunt now
Nathan Bell
The ironic thing is that the VCP never actually "broke" the South. It's still alive and well and it contains most of the country's wealth and businesses.
Anthony Nguyen
Vietnam is pretty high on my list of cunts to visit t b h.
Julian Martinez
They're getting richer by the year. At this rate they'll be the next China, and richer than you Vadim.

Yeah, easy money and I don't have to work much. It's a very good life while you're in your 20s
Noah Diaz
You're not a native speaker though. You're a europoor with a shitty accent, and robbing the little gook brats of a true English education.
Luis Gray
Nice trips Satan.
Austin Walker
I am a native speaker. I'm not Portuguese. Not that that would make much of a difference, non-native teachers tend to be harder working. And if you're teaching very young kids it's not like you need to be completely fluent to teach red green blue and yellow
Jonathan Martinez
An American accent makes you sound really stupid though.

I’m thinking of going there or another Asian country and teaching for a few years.

True. Vietnam hates China

>still butthurt
Overseas born "Vietnamese" trying to fit in confirmed. Vietnam beats several western nations in international PISA-tests even though they do the tests with sharpened charcoal on pieces of flattened bamboo
Carter Harris
Strongest allies
Xavier Ross
Do you get paid in dong or in a first world currency?
Connor Green
They have one of the highest growth rates in the world, the only ones higher are African nations that are starting from zero, and Vietnam is a neat place already
Jayden Bell
They pay you in dong if you work here, and they make it nearly impossible to transfer the money out of the country or to a western bank account. Something to think about if you come here.
Henry Lewis
First place was just over 1100 euros after tax IIRC. Rent for a very nice room was about 220 incl. bills. I was working for an after school company, one of the big chains
I was paid in dong and I think nearly everywhere does the same
James Jackson
What a load of BS. My wife is from the south and she feels proud that Vietnam beat the US and is fiercely nationalistic. North or South makes little difference now.
Jacob Morris
>being butthurt over something that happened 25 years before I was born
Uh...
Caleb Torres
Really? I always just used my bank. Do you have a work permit?
Nolan Campbell
my favorite restaurant in my hometown was a Vietnamese restaurant. so I do. their cuisine is pretty much the extent of my knowledge of their culture. would love to travel there one day though.
Blake Sullivan
Jokes on you Vlad, those were actually are missles!
Henry Gutierrez
How very odd. All Vietnamese diaspora here absolutely despise the VCP and they fly South Vietnam flags outside their homes and places of business.
Jace Roberts
Vietnamese food is based as fuck. You can't throw a rock in my city without hitting a pho joint.
Jose King
Is Jow Forums this full of new/summerfags lately?
Sebastian Cook
Probably because those were the viets we rescued from vietnam. Or they want to not live in fear thinking Vietnam veterans would come after them.
Easton Price
>North conquers South
>Southern loyalists flee to the US
>You are surprised that they don't like the North
The North had a much higher popular support, even in the South, that's why you lost. Nobody liked that shitty banana republic state you propped up in the South.
Luke Lopez
Dunno desu, I think there is still at least some ambivalence to the government down south. The impression I got anyway was that they weren't as patriotic. A lot of people there got a taste of the good life. In the south people mostly just like to make money and party, in the north they're a bit more conservative and nationalistic.
Jayden Watson
The South collapsed because left-wing Democrats in Congress voted to terminate all aid to it. Gerald Ford didn't want to do this, but they had a veto-proof majority.
Jeremiah Reed
Of course there's a difference, but thinking that the south feel that they are occupied or that they wish the south had won is not likely, at least I've had no indication of that from the people I've met. My wifes family love Vietnam to a high degree and we had a picture of Ho Chi Minh at our wedding attended by hundreds of people.
Connor Parker
No, the south collapsed because it was an unstable meme state that only existed because you held it up at gunpoint. How many coups did they have again? A shitload.
Xavier Lopez
>we had a picture of Ho Chi Minh at our wedding
Did everyone else think this was really weird? I would have.
Juan Brooks
>No, the south collapsed because it was an unstable meme state that only existed because you held it up at gunpoint
Sweden-kun, do you think Hanoi would have lasted a week without Soviet military advisers, SAMs, and MiG-19s?
Ayden Myers
No? They were Vietnamese, we married in Vietnam, most of the people there were Vietnamese, except my closes family (and it was the first time in asia for many of them, so they had other things to be weirded out by more than a picture).
Isaac Sullivan
This.
Hanoi is a boring shithole. Saigon is rapidly developing and on its way to becoming a major player in SEA city tourist destinations. Competing with Bangkok, Manila, etc. I'm almost positive most Viets would rather live in Saigon than the North.
Ayden Stewart
same for Ottawa, there are so many Vietnamese spots, mom n' pop family restaurants, pho only spots, banh mi joints, stalls for vietnamese crêpes. its amazing.
I love the french influence in their cuisine. I guess they were a colony at some point.
Jonathan Lewis
No, of course not, how does that change what I wrote? They had several coups WHILE YOU WERE THERE
James Green
I can't wait until 20 years from now when his hapa kids commit suicide or become insane SJWs. Ever met a stable hapa? I haven't.
Jose Hall
>only existed because you held it up at gunpoint.
Are you actually retarded? You do realize they came to us for help right?
Asher Lopez
By 1971, the war was basically over. The South had been cleared of communist forces and the security situation improved significantly. Saigon's economy was booming and they had an active free press with multiple newspapers reflecting a variety of opinions. This stood in contrast to the Stalinist North where stores had almost nothing to buy in them and anyone who criticized the VCP got v&.
Had aid to the South not been so abruptly terminated, it may have become a permanent standoff like in Korea.
Charles Wood
Course of events:
>Vietnam is split during WW2
>Elections regarding unification are scheduled
>South refuses because they know they'll lose the democratic elections, call for help from the US, and you show up to help stop the democratic elections regarding unification
Wow, heroes of freedom and democracy!
Parker Morales
Nice revisionism, if the war was basically over, why did you literally run away crying muttering something about "peace with honor", while at the same time allowing the Northern forces in the south to keep whatever ground they had in the south, and stay there armed? lol
Parker Brown
What elections? After the fall of the South, they arrested/killed/forced into exile everyone who didn't want to be commies.
Robert Bailey
The elections that were scheduled to be held before the war regarding reunification, the war was a direct result of you showing up and blocking it.
Eli Butler
Also, the only one in my wifes extended southern family that died during the war was her great uncle who didn't want to be forced into ARVN. He was found dead shortly after trying to run from the "recruiters". Literally no one died by Nothern hands in her extended family after the war.
I haven't read up on what the north did after the war, but can't have been that bad.
Jose Turner
Actually the Soviets opposed elections regarding the fate of Vietnam and vetoed it at the UN Security Council but nice try.
Jaxon Lee
They jailed and tortured South Vietnamese for years after the war. Some of the South Vietnamese commanders didn't get out until the 90's
Lincoln White
>I haven't read up on what the north did after the war, but can't have been that bad.
Absolutely brutal. They put thousands of people in reeducation camps and also harshly suppressed non-Vietnamese ethnic minorities. The border between the North and South remained sealed off for the longest time and South Vietnamese families were purposely resettled near the Cambodian border to be exposed to attacks from the Khmer Rouge.
Gavin James
Both have pros and cons
Brayden Rivera
>all the bullshit from American posters
Heh but well if I post something, if will be disregarded as 'communist propaganda' anyway.
Christian Powell
Dit con vit
Ian Lopez
Also for a decade after the war the country was run under harsh "war" communism and living standards collapsed to less than some African countries. Things did not begin to improve until the aged VCP leadership died/retired in the mid-80s and were replaced by younger men, and the Cold War started winding down.
David Peterson
Wait a minute, I saw this same post before and I did rebuke it!
Don't tell me you're the same guy who keep posting any bullshit crap about Vietnam.
Ian Rivera
>fuck the duck
WTF! Here the proper insult: địt mẹ mày
Leo Stewart
Well fucking of course they'd lock up the commanders
Nicholas Baker
When the NVA entered Saigon, they were stunned by the high living standards and abundance of goods available in stores since their own propaganda for years told them that it was like Mordor and people lived in poverty and were enslaved by the US imperialists and their fascist lackey running dogs in Saigon.
Cooper Flores
Fight against US imperialism! Long live Vietnam! Long live Assad! Long live the Houthis! Death to America!
Michael James
The ethnic minorities had sided with you guys in the war though, they needed to be supressed
