Why would anyone want a car that breaks down every week, is expensive as shit to repair, and has bad mileage?

Sold to China and India, as swedish one

Ahem.

lots of ford models are built and designed in UK

take for example this

Attached: GT40-original.jpg (1162x614, 85K)

based kara boga

British Union workers made outrageous demands for shit worksmanship and incredibly poor engineering. Possibly intentionally poor engineering.

were british cars that bad?.. i had no idea
i see

britbongs have never had proper factories, they are crypto joos who speculate on finance

>were bretard cars bad

Attached: images.jpg (276x183, 9K)

Why would you want part time acid throwers designing your vehicles?

a better question is, why is VW so popular?

Good, reliable cars who are cheap to maintain.

the gt40 that was built in the uk was utter shit, shelby took over and the wins came

I'd say it is doing okay. Land Rover, Bentley, Rolls Royce, and Jaguar. They aren't the most popular, but Land Rover certainly has a good marketshare here in Miami.

this is the opposite opinion many people have of them here
they have too many electronics and minor water damage make them a pain to repair (i admittedly haven't worked with many VWs though)
i suppose they are cheap compared to mercedes, bmw, or mini (i don't want to spend >$100 on a simple hose)

Shit, wish I bought a Hungarian model instead, like... uh

probably exxagerated info from fringe situations

>minor water damage make them a pain to repair
Show me a source. I drove mine 300000 kilometers until it broke.

GMC cars are designed by Opel and produced in China those days. Most american cars have cheap plastic interior and cheap engines, still they cost as much as a VW Golf. That's why Trump is raging. There is simply no reason to buy an american car. I would rather buy a Peugeot or Renault than an American car right now.

Well, Mini is still produced in the UK and is in a good shape now, after BMW bought them.

>renaultugal

>Show me a source.
source: mechanic i knew irl
credible source: too lazy to find one

>There is simply no reason to buy an american car. I would rather buy a Peugeot or Renault than an American car right now.
lol only old people and minorities drive american
we drive japanese cars

Wtf we use Volkswagen

Monaco and San Marino confirmed for god tier taste tbqh senpai

>lol only old people and minorities drive american
we drive japanese cars
kys weeb faggot

>. Most american cars have cheap plastic interior and cheap engines, still they cost as much as a VW Golf. That's why Trump is raging. There is simply no reason to buy an american car. I would rather buy a Peugeot or Renault than an American car right now.

>buying anything French
I knew krauts were feminized faggots

Everyone knows american cars are trash and japmobiles are way more reliable

Japanese cars are the best, when they have American engines of course.
youtube.com/watch?v=JBVMaufrwjI

this is the truth, the only thing that edges ford and chevy out ahead of toyota and honda are their trucks

these are frontpage results from google

They simply had too much and good competition. Another thing might be that brits are driving on the wrong side of the road, thus they can't sell their own cars in mainland Europe.

Also, Britain in general likes to outsource lots of supplier and subcontractors, even if they belong to the competition, just to save a few bucks. If these suppliers raise their prices, they have a problem. And most of their production is gone by then. You see this phenomenon in alot of manufacturing sectors.

stop being a limp wrist faggot, Japanese cars have just as many issues. Subarus will eat head gaskets and Mitsubishi reliability is a meme

i'm not saying they don't have their own issues, but americans do buy more japanese cars than american

>we built one good Ford
The only good Ford left is the Mustang and it's 100% American
>Inb4 focus RS
That's a soyboy car.

>Brits drive Ford
what the fuck I didn't know this

I also don't get the American cars suck meme, is it because I'm a truck fag who doesn't care about mileage and fixes his own shit?

One theory that I read from a Finnish diplomat's book from the 1980s was that the British underclass was so poorly educated that they had problems following even the simplest written instructions. Quality education was and still is reserved for the aristocrats in Britain. There are lots of brilliant British engineers but no one to work in serial building.

Relatively expensive and even mercs are easier and cheaper to maintain.

I don't get why everyone don't buy Dacias.

>Subarus will eat head gaskets and Mitsubishi reliability is a meme
it's a good meme
also, working on major american brands is shit (almost as frustrating as working on a german car)
except for jeeps of course, they're super pleasant and simple

vestige of the 90s

>we drive japanese cars
My brother is only person who drives a Nissan truck in my area, literally every second driveway here has a Ford F-150

except trucks

I don't get it either because I just drive chevies and they seemed to last retarded amounts of lack of maintenance after 120,000 miles.

>cyprus
>not mercedes
???

Communists from the Midlands happened.

Unironically this, the unions fucking destroyed this country.

>british engineering

We have some of the best cars in the world. Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Lotus, Jaguar, Land Rover...

Our area of expertise is high-end cars, not cheap crap.

Probably because interiors are usually really cheap feeling.
Newer cars are nice tho.

Modern Chevrolets are just designed by Opel here in Rüsselheim

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 28K)

oh yes it's always the unions, like in Chicago

The owners of the factories, the ones who get paid to actually manage the company, these ones are never to blame

>Our expertise is cars that no one drives

>the only way to make a british car good is to put an american engine in it

Attached: [email protected] (1200x801, 140K)

Your country doesn't even have an automotive industry. Totally irrelevant.

Guess what. The Netherlands is a lot better than the UK at producing cars that no one drives.

Attached: Spyker_C8_Aileron_kleuren_01.jpg (1024x576, 154K)

And all of those break down all the time. They are known for design and status, not working well.

Unions are bad when they get out of hand, and can even put themselves out of work. Chicago is actually a good example of this recently. I do trade shows and the autoshow unions have made it where car companies don't want to do them anymore. Most car companies are going to stop doing many autoshows after getting charged 200,000 USD (not exaggerating) to hang some fucking banner by three guys scratching their ass.

They're renowned for their high-quality. Keep deluding yourself.

>the only good way to make an American plane is to put a British engine in it

Same with the f35

Attached: p-51-361[1].jpg (1200x818, 334K)

well my car was made in 93 so i guess so lol

They are known for foggy headlights and shit tier electronics. Only Brits took Top Gear seriously when they jerked off to British cars, others cringed. They look good and that's why rich folks buy them.

I drive a Land Rover

They have gotten better. I own a lot of cars and honestly nothing is that great except for jap cars. My Mercedes S class wigs out and pulls the seatbelt so tight you about throw up when I go near this one part of the road that apparently triggers the pre-emptive crash computer shit, my Porsche had too go back three times for fucking spark plugs, my Corvette the infotainment system keeps rebooting itself, my Ferrari the air conditioning failed a week after I bought it.

Then you're no one.

Clear rip off of Lotus

I just went to the RAF Museum in London this week. Some awesome shit on display there, worth a visit if you haven't been.

>going within 100 miles of London

No thank you

Attached: 1507341723777.jpg (288x252, 24K)

London isn't that bad. I will say once Ramadan ends there are a whole lot of diplomatic plates on sports cars parked in the middle of Bond Street

at least it's not a chevy cavalier

I hope you went to the British Museum at least

ultra capitalism happened
same with ARM

why do Poles drive Skoda instead of VW?

>ultra capitalism happened
Errr, nope. Capitalism happened because you tried socialism lite and failed like everyone else.

It is basically a cheap VW

I did. I was honestly a little overwhelmed. It was absolutely fantastic but there were so many kids running around screaming and it was just too crowded for me.

I really like the Imperial War Museum. I went there twice actually. I went one morning right when it opened and did WWI and the Secret Wars, then I had a meeting in the afternoon, then I went back the next day and did WWII/Holocaust. I've also been through Winnies Bunker which is fun, but not this last trip.

It's a VW under a different brand

unions got greedy and ended up fucking themselves over

many such cases

>let me tell you about your country

Natural history?

He's kinda right

Fuck unions, especially train unions

>it's the unions not neoliberalism policies who ruined uk
brainlet.jpg

unions mixed with public services has got to be the most evil thing
aside from antisemitism of course

What caused the ruination of Italy

Probably similar

>train drivers striking again because they only get paid £50000000000

VW is a Skoda with a retard tax slapped on top of it.

UK companies are all foreign-owned because the UK is wedded to a totally free capitalistic model.
look at a company like ARM, one of the most critically valuable properties in the world, dominates the mobile CPU market, the government just flogs it off to some jap bank. you think germans would ever in a million years let a foreign concern buy out VW or or BMW? british marques aren't like that, the government doesn't care, everything in the country is for sale.
yeah unions were taking the piss a bit but look at the bigger picture.

I drive a jag cause they're cheap as fuck here

Just sell it and buy and different one when maintenance is due

I do that with ducati's too

Attached: 1461114564942.jpg (240x240, 10K)

You're right I blame labour

>wtf is ARM
>google it
>152 billion revenue in 2017

Attached: 1525502221908.jpg (599x589, 98K)

No. That's a good one for the next time? I travel there for work semi often and generally have some free time.

I don't know m8 I'm a rube

It's sounds like you are exaggerating mate. Are those guys unionised?

Unions need to be regulated too. But here they didn't fuck it up. They basically saved the automotive industry in Germany. The companies would've moved long away, if it wouldn't be for the unions and the cooperation between them and the company leaders. The model was actually that successful that it bleeded over to Britain and Mini as BMW provided the work rights from here. On the other hand the companies enjoy big support by the government, in case they are in need of help.

I'm not. Yes they are.

Absolutely. It can go too far where workers are taken advantages of, and then the opposite way where the workers make themselves so expensive and difficult that they put themselves out of work. Total balance.

Lots of people don't understand that it's highly important to keep production in your own sphere and own country, even if it costs twice as much or more. The money will circle in your own economy and doesn't go to China. And as soon as you reach the robot age, the factories will be in your country and not somewhere else, where you can't reach them anymore and bought by chinese investors.

When Trump was talking about automotive factories moving to Mexico and stuff, I forget the numbers but I was pretty floored at how little people actually work in an automotive factory now even. I've also toured Porsche Stuttgart and Porsche Lipzeig and there are a lot of people, but not a whole lot. I think the number that sticks in my mind was 800 for the car company manufacturing house Trump was talking about. There are lots of robots already.

Be interesting to see what we do with all these people when robots do their jobs.

Compare that to something like Foxconn that has millions of employees.

So you are saying to hang one banner a company can charge 200k? I find that incredible and would like to know more details. I have spent my career working at heights and have dabbled in banner installations and it was a race to the bottom price wise.

>what is price elasticity

bsaed thatcher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAISE MAGA REDBILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was part of an autoshow display. Normally banner hanging is dirt cheap, but in a convention center the non-rush rate for say 30-50ft of banner hung is like 30,000 USD. Now if you want it in a rush it can be triple or more.

Automotive manufacturers had to do it for a while so they took advantage of them. Now companies realize there are better ways to show cars than autoshows that no one goes to anymore anyways.

Serbia joins V4 when?

>France
>Renault
>not Peugeot

Disgusting

Reminder the greatest car to drive on God's green earth is British.
