China, Japan, and Korea all have very distinctive musical styles.
In this thread we compare music from each of these three countries, and post our favourites.
I'll start: youtube.com/watch?v=zMNC2cw1D7k Been listening this on repeat for a while now. The lyrics are interesting, in that the author used a large variety of words that are all used in different ways to create antitheses.
Does Korea have a diverse music industry, as in quality music outside KPOP?
Because K-POP by far is the most boring music I've heard. Japan has a flourishing underground music Industry and even their pop music has some good variety to it.

This is a modern kpop song but with heavy trot/traditional korean influences
>Japan has a flourishing underground music Industry and even their pop music has some good variety to it. This applies to every country if you bother to look deep enough
You can find a lot of c-pop/taiwanese pop just by opening a private window, looking up a random c-pop song and then clicking through the recommended videos.
Quality greatly differs tbf, really don't know if you'll like this but it was very popular when it came out youtube.com/watch?v=aa2AhDaK_iY
Chinese songs are the shittest ones, followed by Korean and Japanese songs. Japanese songs are best among them even though by international standards they can't be considered outstanding or distinguished. I really can't understand why a few of Koreans songs managed to make a hit in China.
Yup Njn actually Kochi native aanu, but doing college in Calicut. I was born and brought up in Mumbai though, athondu I can only type and understand latinised malayalam... Had to put your earlier message through Google translate. Malayalam alphabet ippozhum padichondu irikkua lol..
>Korea Kpop has some of the catchiest songs ever, but the industry is very reliant on a few in house producers plus outsourced swedish producers. It's very repetitive, trend based, and there is a huge number of nobody idols churning out generic garbage. Their indie music is garbage coffee shop shit. Idols have very short shelf lives for good reason, most are replaceable. >China Very inaccessible compared to kpop and jpop so I'm not that familiar with it, but from what I've heard it's 90% boring as fuck ballads, 10% cheesy dated pop. I find chinese the least pleasant language to listen to. >Japan Japan has a huge, profitable industry and easily has the best and most diverse range of music in asia. Their artists can have serious longevity and it's a great country to tour in thanks to the domes. I find that the anime industry brings in a lot of fun, cheesy music that would never, ever be cool enough for release in the west and I love that.

They may be his own compositions, but his style is a bit generic imo top kek
