at what point of history humans stopped appreciating art and switched to "modern" """"""""""""art""""""""""""?
Debatable, but sometime during the second industrial revolution. It sure as hell people didn't build anything of value after the 1910's. The last art movement that still appreciated beauty was the Art Nouveau. After that it's nothing but pure shit.
Helsinki
1881 > 2017 > 1857
A long neglected part of the district of Kallio is getting a much needed facelift. The end of Siltasaarenkatu has for decades remained a concrete wasteland and clashed badly with the monumental Kallio Church. Now the old buildings will be replaced and the street turned into a proper pedestrianized zone. The development will also include an updated metro entrance and a roof top terrace.
>>brown sewer waters

art deco was great though
France is still winning with this eye sore. The first time i saw it i almost pissed myself from laughter.
Agricultural revolution. I miss my literal mancave

Love the vatican auditorium
the sculpture at the hand looks like a jrpg boss
Why does the water look so brown? Is it soil from some construction works? Here in St. Petersburg local rivers look more natural, dark blue, even considering all the pollution.
oh shit Turku what are you doing
Modern architecture is ugly. I'd kill Le Corbusier with my own hands.
it's because of all the sewage you dump in the water in Russia, it all washes up here
I want to help you murdering le corbusier with our own hands
>Abo
Å not A, big difference.
I honestly don't know why people can't infuse their culture into architecture.
The Taiwanese kind of do it
Positive one here.
Before and after.
Really good to see something like that.
traditional architecture was a mistake
modernism it is
I like it.
>Daniel Libeskind
never trust him
imbecilism
we sadly have the same
This quater opend just 2-3 weeks ago.
So would the next step in modern architecture to be bringing back traditional architecture?
Let's hope so.
Ham factory somewhere in northern shitaly
Anti muslim wall
Let's hope not. Traditional architecture is tradional because it's old and unique. Bringing it back would not only look like shit but also downgrade actual tradional buildings that have soul.
I unironically prefer 2017 one.
globalism
This is the most disgusting thing ive ever seen. God I hate modern architecture so much.
>Hey lets keep building soulless glass and concrete boxes
>lol old man thats so boring, lets make soulless glass and concrete boxes but also makes them in stupid impractical shapes just so we can say we are different!
I feel like vomiting up my dinner looking at that picture. Triangular commie blocks, thats exactly what this fucking country needs. Atleast its in turku so I never ever need to see it.
But user, why do you hate our nice concrete glas boxes? Just look at how nice they look in the model pics with these nice filters... :3
