Should I study Accounting?
Should I study Accounting?
no. it's an incredibly sterile profession. Anecdotal, but every accountant that I have met always complained about their job, especially during tax season
I was under the impression that you had already started an accounting course.
No it starts in July.
study law with an emphasis on tax law
My course starts in July too. Semester two entry?
Yeah.
I just want a comfy office job.
>study law with an emphasis on tax law
but that will land you a business lawyer job not an accountant job
yes, it's an infinitely better gig than accounting
yeah but it's completely different, a degree in economics is much more flexible
becoming a successful lawyer here is hard af if your father isn't one
Law is over-saturated as fuck in Australia.
no, go live in the woods with your own animals and agriculture, much comfier than an office job
Good luck fighting for the jobs with the 9 million other accountant graduates
here too, we have more law graduates in Rome than all of France
it recently became the shittiest law only ahead of psychology in terms of average salary and employment rate after graduating
Could be said for any degree desu.
I know a few accountants who say they hate it.
If I were you I’d do a finance or economics major. Or both desu.
Economics is interesting because there’s a lot of statistics. Finance is like the cool part of accounting and Econ.
but accounting has probably more demand than some other shit, there's a lot of people studying accounting because they're required
>Should I study Accounting?
No. All these mid-tier white color and assistant positions in corporate administration are already feeling the cold breath of automation and will stop existing within the 30 years. Paralegals, accountants and all of these kind of jobs will stop existing.
Study medicine instead
collar'
Its not comfy at all
Not smart enough.
are there even accounting degrees? like here we have accounting courses in any economic field degree but no degree in accounting exclusively
Nah it's like Bachelor of Business and you major in Accounting.
Finance majors make the most, followed by Accounting majors. Myself, I will be majoring in Accounting and Finance. I am also taking Arabic classes, because Islam is my religion.

oh I see, we too have courses that are aimed at people who want to be tax advisors and consultants that have emphasis on accounting and business/tax law
Yes sure. It's a comfy and high-paying job
