They're two parties who work together since they used to be almost identical ideologically and competing would just split votes. CDU stays out of Bavaria and CSU stays out of the rest of Germany.

CSU might be even worse since they aren't even trying to hide that they work for companies, Dobrindt didn't bother with getting a decent Internet infrascture even though that was his job, he let Telekom (who got the contract for that) do whatever they want. And they did barely anything. He also blocked a bill that would've made class action lawsuit possible in Germany because people would've used that to sue against VW.
Oh, article 13 and 11 (i think it was 11, it's called "Leistungsschutzrecht") were also pushed hard by CDU/CSU because very few publishers (eg. Axel Springer) in Germany want it to pass because they think Google owes them (ad)money. There is already a german version of article 11 but it's useless.

One of their politicians Joerg Meuthen said in interview here that Poland shouldnt be deprived of EU money because it could hurt also German business and he was defending us from Timmermans. If Poland decided to be a total puppet of the USA in the region against interest of Germany, it would make sense for AfD guys develop anti-Polish policies to destroy us. But so far it doesnt make any sense because we are already a German economical colony. You dont destroy countries with whom you have 100 bln euro of trade growing with 10% per year and where you have cheap labour force and billions euro of investments. You can already say that these old German lands are a part of Germany because a lot of Polish towns use two-bilingual German-Polish info-boards.
