How much do you pay for an apartment in your city?

I'm looking at my first apartment and it's kind of frustrating. I live in a low cost of living city and yet the only apartments below $850 a month are total dumps that are either ghetto or look like they're made of cardboard.

For a one bed quite far outside of central London (zone 3) you are looking at £1300+ a month before council tax or bills.

I got a 2 bedroom apartment that I'm renting for 350 eurobux
Nice place, not one of those 3 big cities, area far from the center but decent

between $400-$700 for something decent

Depends, if it's a shithole apartment then basically nothing, nice apartments are expensive as fuck though.

I'm a tech nerd. Not many big companies with big IT departments outside the city. I could live in the distant suburbs and get more bang for the buck but I don't feel like driving 35 minutes every morning.

Are you a technician or software developer? Because if you're the latter, then the true patrician path is to work remotely and maybe show up at an office once a week for meetings.
