His trade war makes him hugely popular in the midwest while democrat efforts at gun control prevent them from gaining the south. The current DNC plan to stop him is to flip Texas and Florida, however Trump will easily keep these states when he "reopens NASA" and does his space force.

There's really no way to stop him. Democrats decided to double down on all the shit people hated that caused them to loose 2016, especially with gun control and supporting free trade. Their hope is that the Mueller investigation will create enough dirt to throw voters off of Trump, but this is unlikely especially when Mueller and Trump have the same goals. Few will admit that Hilary was/is shit, because Dems get on their high horse about how she won the popular vote.

Overall I'm expecting hard blue urban states (CA, IL, NY) to get bluer while everything else gets more Republican. Minnesota is the next to drop, perhaps New Mexico as more and more hispanics vote Republican because of trade protectionism.
