I agree, but when that spike happened Chavez had been dead for 5 years

Countries devalue their currency so that Amerimutts can import their shit and keep our trade deficits going. It's not coincidence that the USDCNY and EURCNY experience sharp drops every now and then, despite China having one of the largest foreign currency reserves and claiming to back their currency with gold as they hoard more of it.

compare this

to this

Attached: ARS.png (298x141, 7K)

their productivity is like a third world country
but they spend and borrow like a first world country.

Remember when they were almost equal?

thank god I bought when the dollar was 20 pesos

in this piece of shit country the fact of buying dollars is an excellent inversion to lose the minimum amount

Attached: 426.gif (212x149, 2M)

Arent we the same? Binge on debt in our own currency, inflate away the interest, refinance debt, rinse and repeat. Nothing wrong with borrowing your way into perpetual prosperity, yet.

and then compare this to this WTF Maduro...

>inversion
Investment.

Buddhist*
Most meme president in recent history

The CIA is ruining their economy because they hate socialism, Maduro did nothing wrong.

>Pure conversion means nothing.

The relative value of different currencies hold significance for import and export flows between two countries though. You could nitpick about which country is engaging in QE or price inflation at the time but it still has real consequences for the real economy for both countries. Or in the case of the USD vs. other currencies, for the value of the other currency against the primary reserve currency of most of the world

Peron is who killed the economy you literal retard. He was literally the first example presented in a macroeconomics class I took recently at a top-ranked university as to what you SHOULDN'T do.

based

youtube.com/watch?v=YtNpLS4GQOA

his anthem is top tier though

He was the best presindent ever, stop listening to that capitalist propaganda. They hate Peron because he wanted independence from foreign economic power.

Seriously this. I think a lot of people underestimate just how easy it is to tank the economy of smaller nations, especially if you get their corporations on board.

Someone has to bomb trump right now, his protectionist policy is killing us AAAAAAAAAAJ!

>US buyers must pay Argentinian companies in Argentinian pesos to buy Argentinian goods to import
>Devalue your currency
>It is now cheaper to pay Argentine suppliers in Argentine pesos for goods made in Argentina in US dollars
>Because it is cheaper to buy Argentine goods because of the exchange rate, US importers buy more Argentine goods
>Demand therefore increases for Argentine goods because Americans are buying more because its cheaper
>That means more demand for Argentine workers, more Argentinians going to work, higher wages, etc.

Its the exact same reason the Chinese purposefully devalue their own currency. Having a cheap currency does NOT mean you are losing in international trade. For most countries it is the opposite.

Yes, we have no history whatsoever in the region. It couldn't possibly be us behind the massive currency manipulation.

yeah the thing is salaries are pretty much the same and prices keep going up

>us troops currently on the ground
What's wrong with joint military cooperation? We host foreign troops all the time for training

MI GENERAAAAAAAAAAAL

>Beacon of freedom and democracy defending those things in Latin America is bad
This is your brain on propaganda.

>tanking your currency by 1000% in 10 years is good for the economy
this is your brain on neoliberalism

Real wages may have remained the same in Argentina, but the same is true in the US.

Most of the Western hemisphere, and the Western world in general, has an inflation problem at the moment. But that is largely unrelated to trade, especially for economies like the US and Argentina, which are relatively liberal compared to China

Its ok, I know high school is rough. Just take a class on basic supply and demand dynamics, and soon enough you'll get it.

protip: if you judge an economic theory by what type of -ism it is, and not by what outcomes it is statistically associated with, you're a brainlet

When has the US spreading freedom ever benefited anyone but our corporations?

it's not good when the only shit we export is agricultural stuff, that thing gives work to like 1% of the country

Japan, Korea, Germany to name a few examples.

Didn't you guys have tariffs for your automotive sector for like 20 years or something?

nah the problem is devaluating a 25% with a 25% of inflation keeps the "real value" on the same place.
anyway, this kind of shocking devaluation aren't even good for increasing exports, usually this ends in recession and higher inflation

So stopping dickheads from world domination and kind of helping Korea. Now about those 900 other instances... The us has brought nothing but destruction to latam aside from Panama.

this post is so american it hurts

>still no real argument

>muh auatarky
Numbers don't lie, Peronist faggot.

Attached: 20140215_FBC282.png (1190x556, 277K)

thats a worldwide problem, it's even happening in countries such as UK and Australia

>>still no real argument
Let me put it into simple terms, so your common core math education can understand:

Lets say a liter of gas costs 1 USD/3 ARS in 2008 and your salary is 1000 ARS. In 2018, that liter of gas costs 1.2 USD/29 ARS, but your salary is has only risen to 1100 ARS.That is not a good thing. Are you following me here? Do I need to dumb it down any further?

it depends on whether or not you're paying for it in dollars or pesos, real wage growth in either country, and inflation in either country dumbass

look at any correlogram of a relative value of a country's currency and its level of exports, you'll find that when currency devalues, exports go up (see protip)

why do you feel the need to argue about things that you clearly have no true understanding of?

Real wages are going down because you can buy less and less every month. This is bad for the internal market, people are buying less things, lots of businesses are closing and people go unemployed.

Show us a chart of shipment of empty containers or else the last half of your greentext isnt supported by data

>exports go up
Wow that really helps Joe Blow who now has to spend half a paycheck to fill his tank and can't afford any imported goods. But hey, as long as Schlomo Goldsteinmanwitz made a few extra shekels, everything is hunky dory and the economy is strong.

WAKE ME UP

Honestly it wouldn't be so bad if you could get (((pemex))) to build refineries
Other than electronics and oil, I don't think Mexico imports much else

AJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ

>Other than electronics and oil
I meant to say "other than electronics and gasoline"

Korea is because we don't China to keep spreading, the other two are homicidal/genocidal crazies.

Rather than build refineries we ended up pretty much selling half of Pemex gas stations to Chevron, British Petroleum and some other private owned gas station chains.

Fucking stop (((them))) already.

>TFW Spent thounsands of USD in bitcoins on RCs and psychedelics from 2009-2011
