>1/5 federal employees make over 100k a year
>30k federal employees make at least 190k a year
>Federal law enforcement has automatic bonus that is 25% of base salary
>Many federal jobs work four days every other week
>No 70+ hours like high level private sector jobs
> Federal employees have pension program that will equal ~(1.1% x highest salary) x number of years worked. So if you make 120k mid career and work for 40 years, you will have a 52k pension. On top of pension, Federal employees have retirement contribution system similar to 401k with employer contributions
>On top of pension and retirement contributions, federal employees have retirement health insurance
Is the federal government one of the most comfy professions?
Federal Government
>PAY YOUR TAXES, GOY
>You use the roads, don't you?
Yeah we know the government is bloated garbage.
I don't anticipate it getting better.
Fed here. Yes.
>Is the federal government one of the most comfy professions?
yep
WHY DOESNT THAT IMAGE FULLY LOAD
WHAT TEH FUCK
When the dollar crisis hits... and pensions fail. I will be more excited than a linkie when singularity hits when these people are literally starving.
Federal employees have destroyed this nation.
People need to be buying real money... gold and silver... a currency crisis is coming and gold owners will be the people who will benefit from the real biggest transfer of wealth in human history since fiat is dying
Forgot to add
>After several years, federal employees get like eight weeks of vacation
Why do citizens stand for this shit?
It's corruption in plain sight and no one fucking cares
kys
That’s wrong. When they get to 15 years of service, they get 5 weeks.
The article said eight weeks. I guess they included the federal holidays
It’s actually calculated like this- you get a certain number of leave hours each pay period, which runs two weeks. The number of hours depends on time of service:
0-3 yrs: 4 hrs/pp
3-15 yrs: 6 hrs/pp
15yrs+: 8 hrs/pp
What agency do your work for and how long does it usually take to reach six figures? Also, is federal LEO competitive?
Actual fed here debunking some of this crap.
>No real pay raises in a decade, like 5% vs 14% inflation, net decrease of 8%.
>Drumpf and Mulvaney crow about private sector wage increases of 3%-4% while proposing a pay freeze for feds next year.
>New employees after 2012 shafted with much higher retirement costs for FERS which is looking like an increasing shitty deal vs a 401k.
>Laughably underpaid if you are in STEM or even have a BA in a high cost of living area. (Your typical gs 7-9 is considered low income where I am. People are spending 60 percent of their after tax income on rent).
Cont
The pay depends on the skill level. Also depends on location. OPM’s web site has the general schedule, which tells you what certain levels get paid in their location. usajobs.gov is the federal hiring site. If you get hired as a Fed, there are plenty of opportunities for promotion once you get in. I’m not in a law enforcement agency, so I can’t speak to the competitiveness, but there
is a lot of hiring going on. There is no easy route to six figures, it’s a similar path as the private sector, depends on education and skill set. Unless you are a professional like a lawyer or engineer, you’ll eventually need to take on supervisory duties which is a pain but it pays.
>Laughably underpaid if you are in STEM or even a BA
Lol. I have a family member who is a fed in Atlanta. They make 150k a year late-mid career and only have an MA. If you count the pension/retirement, it is comparable to someone making 200k in the private sector.
All true
Also, the health insurance isn’t great. My wife’s plan was better, I didn’t use the Fed plan until I /made it/ in crypto and told her to quit
Kill yourself leech
You better hide your power level to work as a fed. At every turn, it’s infected with (((multiculturalism))).
I honestly wish I could opt out of FERS. The pension won't even exist by the time I retire considering they fuck with it every single year. If I could just put the money in the TSP with a higher match % I'd be a lot happier.
>Is unironically a Nazi
As long as you don't advocate, the government does not give a poop what you think
Also, you are 100x more likely to get fired in the private sector for your political beliefs
>Knows every detail of cop pay structure
>Not a cop
Top kek, you glow in the worse like a damn firefly
usa is the biggest scam
This. Working as a fed, I know a lot of good people work at the agencies but Congress and the President will betray you at a moment's notice.
>Plenty of opportunities for promotion.
Not unless you are in the increasing rare career ladders and you are working for DOD or law enforcement (and not even all law enforcement lmao @ DOJ making cooks work as prison guards due to budget cuts, not even larping). I know people at my agency who were stuck at gs-9 in a high cost of living area for ten years due to perpetual budget cuts and hiring freezes. Also almost everyone here is overworked and underpaid desu. Good people trying their best but our entry level attrition after two-three years is 60% now due to people not willing to put up with the bs for crap pay and a Congress who hates us.
Yeah, probably got in at a good time. Not within the last years, and it is only going to get worse considering Repubs hate us. Funny thing is they replace us with contractors who cost 2x-3x as much to the taxpayer. Fun fact fed employee workforce numbers have remained at 2 miles or so since the 60s but there are as many as 9-12 million contractors now.
Not just shitposting but I honestly feel bad for you americans sometimes on this. In the UK I got 5 weeks from my very first graduate job, you can buy and sell more holiday, holiday can roll into next year, we get about 8 bank holiday days off as well, and you have to take a legal minimum
Eight weeks off is almost unheard of outside of gov and academia in the US.
yeah made me mad too. We're so fucking horny lol
I found a good version by reverse image searching.
Same
I don't care about government leeches, but I care about feet!
Thank you
brapposting is disabled
depends where you are. I joined the Fed last year. I don't make shit right now gs5 but I get a 10k raise every year until gs12. I work in a place where Monday is my only busy day. the rest of the week I do nothing. I get 1 hr of workout time and 1 hr lunch and every Friday I leave 1 hr early. it's comfy.
What job is that
Itt parasites complaining that don't get to leech off of society as much as they wish to
>t. private sector employee who is proud of being exploited
U mad bro?
DHS. I. just spend my day checking Robinhood and blocfolio. I found out there is a job with cultural diversity in the Fed. these people provide puzzles and inform offices if cultural holidays and awareness months. just remember while you are breaking your back there is a dude passing out puzzles making 100k a year.
Can confirm most of this shit. Worked as a contractor for the DOE and the actual DOE people were degen as fuck. Literally did shit all day, just gossiped. The girls I was friends with would have crochet parties in their office for hours at a time. Major major obama lovers as well.
They had one opening and it immediately went to this single mom minority woman who was in the army for 1 year. Prob clearing 100k. Sickening.
Are you a fed?

I worked for the DOT.
It was a shitty boring year; low income and was the youngest person in the department for IT at 22. The next youngest was 34, then 40's across the board.
It was comfy in the fact that I got a car, full benefits insurance and tons of sick leave.
But, man, I wouldn't do it again, there are lifers - people that just knock each day down waiting for retirement. Since I was dealing with their user accounts in AD and shit (glorified help desk as sysadmin) I met every person that was retiring and they were all broken inside.
But thanks to that experience, I quit, got a real job, got into bitcoin, didn't make it cause I'm a pussy but travelled/backpacked Asia for 2 years now unemployed.
So great experience, but wouldn't be a lifer. I think everything was raised across the board for retirement age.
Wtf i love this government now
>t. TSA
Federal employee here. Can confirm it’s comfy as fuck once you’re fully vested after 3 years. I fix airplanes. Starting salary is 65k up to 95k after 5 years. I don’t have my degree but I’ve spent 9 years in the Air Force.
Not proud, I don't have a choice but to pay you leeches' salaries, you worthless pieces of shit
My brother works as an EE for the DOD. Motherfucker works on a 10 man team that focuses on on compenenet of one particluar aircraft. They paid for his masters degree, he makes 100k plus, impossible to get fired, 4 weeks vacation right now, no actual work done, ever, and he goes in and mops the floor on weekends for OT pay.
I seriously can't wait untill crypto completely undermines the tax system. All these peices of shit will be out on their asses and force to actually contribute to something.
What happens at 3 years besides the additional pto?
faggot full image or fuck off
it sounds like theft
governance is important but it seems some people are having super well paying cosey jobs for producing nothing of value they absolutely dont deserve and would never have gotten with their skillets in the free market
Why should people get paid poorly for skilled labor or worked to death?
