All we need is a good exchange and it's a solid coin.
Pretty comfortable discussing it properly because it's going to dump in the midterm anyway.

My whole optimism is based on the idea of a strong privacy coin that uses LN, basically grosetlecoin with better branding.
You can then have 100% private transactions on the lightning network.
I own 2000. Honestly, I got in on zcl at around $28 to ride it as a pure hype play. Dumped my bags with the intention of never looking back at $150 but bought back in during the bittrex shaft job at around $85 on the buy-the-fear thesis.
As it stands today, it seems shaky, hard not to argue that, but there is a "community" and a solid brand. I'm hodling for the longish haul, with a multi hundred target (sell in stages from 200 to 500). Highly speculative but the brand is so strong, someone should step up and deliver because there is too much money on the table not to. However, it does seem like there is an active boycott of BTCP by the exchanges. I think it is a major threat to the brands of BCH and BTC and obviously those are extremely powerful interests. I think that may be the biggest risk. Money usually wins.

The new dev leadership seem very pro BTC core, which to me is smart. They're obviously competing with BCH for marketshare.
also re: Rhett he is without a doubt a liability at this point. It seems like the split was one baddish terms but really even if everyone on the team loved Rhett the smart play would have been to get him to step away from the project. He has a terrible image, deserved or not I don't really care, that's just the way it is.
Yeah they are pro-BTC but BTC I guarantee is not pro-them. BTC hates the brand dilution and BTCP is threatening legitimacy. ZCL was the number 1 volume coin on bittrex leading up to the fork. It was a potential disaster for them. This wasn't bitcoin fuschia or bitcoin tin foil it was the leading volume coin on bittrex with massive hype behind it.

That would be a pity. All BTC holders get BTCP anyway so it's not like they're stealing money.
It has 2mb blocks, so it's an alternative to bcash that isn't trying to trick anyone and isn't trying to undermine core devs. A pretty good deal I'd say.

When they get privacy enhancement going in BCH there won't be any need for this, Monero or ZCash.
I have 15 BTCP left over from the fork that I’m just gonna hold onto and see if they become worth anything. Would’t invest and real money at this time though, maybe if a real exchange lists it.

After BTCP failed to land a decent exchange after launch it was widely rumored that BCH and Ver were paying off exchanges to not list BTCP.
You have a coin with an experienced team and media recognition, and people like mcafee tweeting it, with the exchange footprint of garlicoin.
Something is definitely unbalanced there.
