Well in some ways he was really progressive for his time and he did bring stability and welfare to his people but some aspects are a bit outdated. So yeah the prophet was a great man but again he was a product of his time as well and his time was a pretty harsh and chaotic one.

How is weed not haram? It damages your body more than abstaining from it and alters your senses, lowering your state of clarity in order to practice islam. Are you one of these "muslims" that only take the convenient parts from faith and looking for loopholes to justify your behavior?
It's the same with muslims refusing to consume cough syrup with alcohol in it, when in essence you shouldn't consume alcohol because it alters your senses, not because of the chemistry (don't know any people getting drunk off cough syrup). But then they proceed and neither fast nor pray.

The violence in the middle east that we have seen the last few decades doesn't really have to do much with the prophet honestly. I think the US and their imperialism is more the cause of it than anything else at this point.
If you just looks at recent history ISIS for example could never have happened if the middle eastern states weren't weakened by the arab spring. Also I think that democracy isn't something that be given to a people it needs to naturally evolve else it will lead to failed states like the ones that can be found in the middle east. As much as dictatorship sucks for the opposition the middle east js the most inline with that kind of government and so other countries should just leave them to it.
Basically the US fucks the middle east up for economical and political reasons and europe takes the brunt of the backlash from that because it is the ally of the big bad.

Grown up and lived among mostly muslims (Berlin). No one I've ever met would consume medicine containing alcohol (cough syrup is my best example). It goes as far as evading food that contains gelatin with unspecified origin (because it could potentially originate from pork, Haribo sweets being a famous example).
I'm not in a position to judge your faith, but I'm always interested in individual reasonings from people that flaunt their faith in public but seemingly don't put their deeds behind it - why bullshit to begin with?
