Check pastebin.com/ACEmVqua for plenty of language resources as well as some nice image guides.

Reminder that the wiki needs more work

>>What language are you learning?
Japanese.

>>Share language learning experiences!
Reading about grammar does absolutely nothing. I saw zero results until I got away from grammar guides, vocab lists, etc. and actually started reading content intended for adult native speakers in Japanese.

>>Help people who want to learn a new language!
See above.

>>Find people to train your language with!
No thanks.

It needs completely re-writing.

>[some copypasta from wikipedia]
>use duolingo, pimsleur and rosetta stone!
Even reddit probably has better language learning guides than this.

Please elaborate, what kind of structure would you like instead?

Gave the easy ones a shot:

>No one responded.
아무도나 답장하지 않습니다.
>That's how I'd do that
그 것을 이렇게 할 거예요. (???)
>Tom has written many books
토므 씨는 많이 책을 썼었습니다.
>I might do that, too
저도 할 수도 있습니다. or 저도 하겠습니다. (not sure)
>She has a black puppy.
그녀는 까만 강아지를 있습니다.

I don't have the vocab to do all the medium ones, although I might have the grammar down.

It should just link people to a decent (free, online) guide covering the very basics of the language then tell them to go read and listen to stuff for adult native speakers in the language after that, with some sort of note explaining that, yes, it's supposed to be difficult at first, and no, they won't be fluent in 3 months.

It could also provide links to useful tools which make reading and listening easier (e.g. the Yomichan browser add-on in the case of Japanese).

Fuck textbooks, Duolingo and all that other waste of time bullshit.

It basically adds a built in dictionary to the browser. Rather than having to copy-paste/type out words into a dictionary, you just hover over them instead.

You can convert ebooks to HTML format and read them in your browser. You can also hook text from things like games and visual novels into your browser.

That’s not a replacement for a textbook

You don't need textbooks, that's the point.

Yes you fucking do. Even people who have lived in Japan for 5 years still study out of their textbook to get better.

>not having textbooks

so what happens when your electronic devices die? You have nothing. Besides even that, you should always have textbooks. I have one for Lithuanian, Polish, Russian and Hungarian and they are pretty invaluable and reference mats are always welcome.

Luddites pls

>You need textbooks because people who use textbooks are still so shit at Japanese after 5 years of using textbooks that they still need textbooks.

Imagine living a life with no backup plan in case any of your worldly electronic devices break down.

>pull it up on another device
Wow that was hard

>that device breaks down

let us not continue this.

Then stop with your /x/-tier hypothetical garbage

And are you fluent in anything? Yeah thought not

better with they hypothetical shit that decide 'it is definitely a good idea to go completely digital and not have any traditional resources for what I actually have an interest in; textbooks are trash'.

Hey guys I’m thinking about spending 2200 hours of my life to learn a language do you think I should get a textbook for $20 or just install some weeaboo’s browser extension?

Are you?

All I know is I wasted a shitload of time reading textbooks and other grammar resources, thinking that was the way to learn languages, and I got nowhere. I still couldn't even read basic shit for kids. Then I threw the textbooks away, didn't even use them as a reference, and just decided to start reading native content for adults. It was brutally hard at first but now I can understand a lot and have been able to have conversations online with natives every once in a while, no thanks to any fucking textbook or grammar resource.

We get it, you're a moron afraid of technology because you don't understand it

>be harsh
You're a fucking cunt and I hate your ass, you useless piece of shit.

Reading in your target language with assistance is probably the single best thing you can do. However you can read for a long time and not really understand certain things. And that's when peaking in a textbook and, for example, looking up what reflexive verbs are becomes valuable.

Just google that shit, senpai

a grammar resource is exactly that, a resource. it's there for you to REFER to, not rely on. of course you're not going to be able to read a grammar textbook and then understand the language just from that. you can't study a language that way. you have to use it, converse with and learn from other people and gradually decipher the patterns and try to predict the proper way to arrange everything through a shit ton of exposure.

for example, you could learn all the verb conjugations of a language inside and out, but you're never going to get a sense of how they actually work without actually using them, seeing them in use, and fucking up a ton. but a grammar textbook is still important because it explains logic behind those patterns, thereby informing your efforts in learning how to recognize them and use the language properly. obviously you're going to learn mostly from actually using the language, but a grammar textbook is there to explain the reasoning behind the patterns you uncover so you don't keep making the same basic mistakes forever. it's the foundation of your developing internal structure of the langauge.

basically you compare what you learn through exposure with the information laid out in the grammar reference to make sure you're on track

Yeah. Would be useful if you wanted you learn and move to their ethnostate until you realize Icelandic women are huge materialistic whores (see: Rich pianas gf).
I’d rather move to Eastern Europe

you can download the SRT (subtitle file) of a subtitled video. google "download srt youtube" or something like that and you'll find it

I'll look that up when I'm not being a lazy shithead, thanks

Pretty much, yes. Napisał wiele - wiele czego? - wiele książek. Same thing happens with other measure words like dużo, mało, trochę etc.
>What's the difference between aż and aż do exactly? Trying to look it up didn't help much.
"Aż do" is just a collocation of "aż". Write the "do" when you're using "aż" before a noun, drop it when it's followed by anything else.
