Need money for bar

Alrighty Jow Forums, It's my absolute dream job to own a bar in Thailand. (Bangla road in Paton, Phuket to be specific).
I've been talking to a business broker about taking over an existing business from an owner that wants to focus on his hotel.
I need about $30,000 USD to buy the business, pay deposits, 6 months rent upfront, Key money etc.

I've researched immensely into the expenditures and revenues of this business especially considering its prime location, and I'm deadset convinced in 2.5 years I can make $150,000 - $250,000 profit.

The problem is that I need the money to start and I'm not keen on asking friends and family for help.

I've got 5k in crypto, 2k in the bank.

Without shilling, give me your best advice on how to reach this amount by the start of 2019.

Um, you’re gonna make a substantial part of that money getting kickbacks from whores.

>5k in crypto
>2k in bank

im sorry man ur just never gonna make it brah.

Ur relegated to being a sad lil wagecuck ur whole life. stop dreaming. feelsbadman

I took into account bar fines, but nothing more. I prefer my estimates to be conservative.
Thank you for your words of wisdom/

Fucking hell, it's only 30k for a bar in Thailand? I could start one today. That's hard to believe.

It's actually about 15k, I just doubled the number to include relevant costs.

seems far too cheap, even for thailand

can you explain what is the appeal, why is this your dream? no criticism, genuinely curious

Im a simple Australian, I love getting drunk with strangers and having fun. If I can run a business while doing that, Then im on cloud 9

Your retarted , Phuket is getting cleaned up to be family friendly. They are strangling the sex industry there.

Pattaya is the last hold out as Bangkok sucks now too. Investing in the sex industry in Thailand is like buying Bitcoin cash.

thanks. good luck with your bar

I run a restaurant. (not in thailand)

It isnt even close to what people who wants to open a restaurant are fantasising about.

Just go to thailand, get drunk and laid and go back to australia. Do this couple of times a year and you are good.

For 5k to 30k by jan 2019 you could go all in eth and probably make it, with no risks (relatively speaking, it's crypto after all).
If you prefer something almost as sure but with bigger rewards dyor about Request Network.
Then you can lose it all in any shitty endeavor of your liking.

Not everyone goes there to contract herpes.

I get the impression OP just likes meeting people in foreign cities and wants a chill bar. If you're moving to thailand to have sex with whores you unironically need to rethink your ambitions.

run ICO

buy chainlink you fucking spaz

Can you elaborate? I'm not interested in getting drunk but I love the Jow Forums aspect of things and want to know more.

projecting this hard
jesus user.

Uh literally get a job. Make some money by wagecucking then get a loan for the rest.

>Im a simple shitposter
Gotcha

listen carefully to me user. I lived in se asia for 5 years and know a million ex pats with bars. not one of them turns a profit its a lifestyle choice where the big cheese can hold court over his underlings with his 50c beers flowing. you need an income beside the bar business, is this broker a westerner or a thai? either way he will be coining it in the commission. dump him and go direct to the bar if your still interested.

please elaborate

what more do i have to say? most are raging alcoholics who get a bar otherwise they would be spending money on beer in another persons bar. they drink for free thats the only perk. its a money sink user. unless you have another side income you gonna lose what little you have. the person selling and keep in mind hes only selling a lease and fixtures and fittings has obviously hit pay dirt and needs to exit with what in his alcohol fuddled mind he thinks hes worth, do due diligence on this user its not so simple

Opening a bar in Thailand is a meme by now. Some of the old timers who got in early (10-20 years ago) are making bank and are enjoying a sweet life - at least those that didn't become full blown alcoholics and that didn't """jump""" from a highrise condo balcony.
Also procuring girls will be an issue. Even poor girls from Isan are becoming increasingly wealthy, which makes them picky. The pretty ones will rather become the mia noi of some rich Thai guy, or blow 6cm Japanese/Chinese dicks for 5x the money than what a smelly farang tourist would offer.
>bar fines
Afaik you'll make the most money with lady drinks. Bar fines are a drop in the bucket.
>15k
That seems suspiciously cheap for Bangla Rd. How much is the rent?
>I love getting drunk
Fucking red flag right there mate
This. Running a bar or a restaurant is fucking hard work.

you didn't mention paying racquet to police

It is true what every one here says about running a bar or restaurant. Do you think that you just show up and the booze is already there and you just serve it and take payment? No, you have to manage menus, inventory, personnel, sanitation, furniture, electronics, overhead every single day- an 8 hour day BEFORE the customers show up. Which btw is 7 days a week. You will occasionally need a vacation, so you will need a trusted manager while you are away and there goes your profits.

Abandon your cargo-cult mentality and seriously think about everything that goes into such a business. You can pull off a modest profit, but you have to put work in. And you will have to not be such an alcoholic, you’ll have to limit the drinking when you realize you actually have to get up and go to work in the morning to pull this party off.

all true. check the lease it may only have a year left. where will you live? now is low season so no customers until september - march

Yeah that's another advantage the old timer have. They've managed to secure their connections to the local police when it was much easier to do that.
The current government is trying to get rid of Thailand's sleazy image and sooner or later they will crack down on the visible bar, gogo and brothel businesses, especially those owned by farangs.

Unironically, but nobody mentioned that farang can't legally work in his own bar. Even if they catch you (and they will) emptying ashtray you'll pay fine.
