This is kind of misinforming though, the entire coast of norway was inhabited by the norse too. The samis never existed further south than northern Trondheim area.
Also it's kind of misleading to say norse emmigrated from germanic tribes, while technically true, it's so long ago it doesn't really make sense drawing a comparison.
