2) It would make the reading of older (pre-simplification) texts very difficult, essentially preventing children from reading anything older than that. I still think that this is the main reason for China's spelling reform.

4) It wouldn't even be that useful. If one uses a computer the number of strokes is irrelevant, e.g., writing 心 takes about as much time as writing 鬱. And people can simplify them in handwriting if they wish.

Chinese words has one big problem for alphabet.

躊躇う is a bad example imo, I often end up reading it as ちゅうちょ by accident. If it were written with just one of the two kanji + う then it would be nicer. Same thing with 揶揄う and 彷徨う and so on.

Stop using kanji and join the modern world. Use hiragana and/or katakana.
