Arabs come from modern-day Jordan, not the coasts of Arabia or Yemen. The actual first arabs were the Nabateans. The Nabateans, who lived in modern-day Jordan, used a script that was a different version of the phoenician script and they were the ones who shared it throughout the whole arabian peninsula. There's evidence for that which is the nabataen ruins in saudi arabia.
