Yeah it’s really weird when you go to the 3rd world and suddenly a fucking beach costs you money.
Only good thing about living in the Hague is the fact I just have to take a tram and I’m at a gigantic free sandy beach

Go in the morning. Old people don't give a fuck and you can have lots of room to yourself because there aren't a lot of people and nobody will steal anything and you won't even get sunburned.

It means the government gave ownership over a beach away to a private party. In the case of an artificial beach it is understandable but often these are natural beaches which is pure bullshit

So we call it Den Haag. It doesnt make much sense until you find out the original name was ‘the count’s woods’

It’s not uncommon in the Med that beaches are private property belonging to beach clubs or hotels charging money to use them (and making extra money with overpriced drinks/foods and sunbeds). I read that a afternoon at the beach for Italian families can cost insane amounts of money unless they go out of their way to find free beaches etc.

That's just weird to me I guess because Beaches are so plentiful here.

It’s the same over here except good weather is rare (this year not though)
But in the Med sand beaches aren’t standard. Many countries there have rocky coasts and often sand beaches are artificial.
