Fastest growing country in Europe 30 years before we found oil, and we kept it up. The oil was just the icing on the cake, we would probably still be in the top without it.
Also the arabs and norway isn't comparable at all in how we use the profits, most of it is invested into stable and safe fields to ensure that the fund will live on long after oil stops being a valuable resource.

Yeah, it makes it tough to determine how ell off these places are because the wealth is so heavily concentrated in a few areas.

Oh you meant free as in that we're not dependent on importing electricity? It think that the statistics are kind of misleading though, if I'm not wrong it only covers home electricity and not industry, which amounts to a lot more.
