France and Germany share a border.
Tell me about it. Is there a distinct border culture? In eastern France, is it more German? In western Germany, more French? Do such hybrid cultures exist? Does the architecture, food, language change slightly? Or the attitudes? Or even the ethnic makeup of the people, do east French borderers look German?
How are relations in general in this region?
she cute !

germans have some good street music apparently
Elsass-Lothringen was German Clay once upon a time. Look it up.
So the penetration of Germany into France would be deeper than if there were a Mountain Range.

I'm aware of the history, I'm just curious about the cultural differences
>How are relations in general in this region?
peoples ignore each other. no connections whatsoever.
Strasbourg has a very German name and looks like a very German town
8Gb seems a little low compared to the rest of the specs, but I guess that's one of the part you can most easily upgrade.
thankyou based frog
Apparently the Lorrainers get bullied by the Alsatians apparently for not being Alsatians.
Alsace and North-Eastern France is very Germanic.
German names, French/german regional language, German food, etc...
Wagner and Tchaikovsky perfected classical music. The soul and emotion I hear in their pieces outclasses even Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Handel imo.
>French/german regional language
really? what's this?
hello frens
want a french gf and i want to live in germany

also, is there something near the german-french border, around trier, that is worth visiting?
One true Catholic Church > Proddie shite
The Amnéville zoo or Verdun if you're into that sort of stuff.
i went to see verdun before, but only the city, didn't think the battlefields would be very interesting, they're just bg, empty fields, right?
it felt somewhat bizarre to run into the american military cemetery they have there. it looks just like in the movies, rows and rows of white slabs. a little island of yankdom in the middle of france. very strange to behold, but maybe that was just because i wasn't expcting it.
will look into the zoo though, may be fun to visit on a weekend, thanks.
Hier sind mir zu viele Leute, die nicht aus Deutschland kommen.
das ist a) richtig und b) falsch
My grandfather came from Germany.
wtf are burgers doing in verdun? they didnt fight there.
might be from WWII
Das ist mein eigenes Empfinden. Wie kann das richtig oder falsch sein?
why did he leave?
dein hass auf auslenders ist keine emotion sondern ein zustand
There's a few fortress and reconstituted trenches from archaeological excavation and historical research you can visit around Verdun. I'd recommend you this one (even though it's the only one I visited) tranchee-verdun.com
He wanted to get fucked by island monkeys
His father died in the war when he was a kid. His mother remarried, and the stepfather was a cunt to him. Ended up really disliking family life. Trained as a chef, left Germany as soon as he could when he was young. Worked as a chef on several cruise ships across the world through the late 50s/early 60s. I believe he came back to Germany at one point, and that's where he met a Welsh man, who he became friends with. The Welsh man promised him a job as head chef in a restaurant back home. So my grandfather went to North Wales, started a career there, met my grandmother, had my father, aunt and uncle here. He died in the early 90s, before I was born, because of his alcoholism.
they didnt fight there in ww2 either.
wew alri that looks pretty cool, will see if i find the time to check it out, merci frogger
you're welcome Herr Choucroute
sounds like a pretty wild life if you ask me. did he cook german dishes in Wales? do the welsh like it? sounds like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire, culinarily speaking
well damn, in that case the yanks just decided to plant themselves a memorial for nothing, as they are wont to do. don't ask me about the yank mentality, im just as clueless as you are
>did he cook german dishes in Wales? do the welsh like it?
Yes, and yes. Though he learned how to cook many different kinds of cuisines while he worked on cruise ships, I believe he cooked in a certain German style, whatever that means. He passed on his cooking techniques to his children, my father is also a chef, who owns a pretty popular local restaurant and cooks a hybrid of British and Continental meals.
mornin lads
Moin
it's one o'clock in the middle of the night
perfect time for a cuppa and to get the day started, eh wot!
that's pretty cool. I don't think I've ever seen a british-style restaurant in germany (or anywhere outside britain) don't like most german food myself, prefer mediterranean. but kudos to your grandad for making it
Ur on a cock in the middle of the night lmao
I'm a Ouiaboo lads. I have to admit it. I can't help but admire Napoleon, French food and their women.

Early booked flight, train or bus
If you don't book early then bus
wagner had autismo
not a fan lad, just like regular tea to gulp it down
maybe if my tea drinking habits were more /comfy/ and cuddled up in a duvet then I might give it a shot for max comfy
thanks! I think I'll go for the train option..I think taking a flight might be cheaper but I'll get to see more in a train
Well, he also had a neckbeard and was an anti-semite. If I had an IQ of 89, I'd start screaming "ONE OF US" and make threads about how he would be surfing the chans if he was alive today.
what's "regular tea" supposed to be?
Probably English Breakfast, or Earl Gray.
come to think of it, wagners music is similarly designed to modern anime. one motif corresponds directly to one character, unambiguously identifies him or her, and the entire story is just a remix of these basic elements. wagner is the musical version of anime, no wonder a loser like hitler liked him
>Wagner = Anime
Don't do this, ever again.
ok sorry
Most music has a Leitmotiv, why would you point that out? Makes no sense.
You're welcome
And that's a good idea, I like train rides too
I would advise against long range buses in case you still wonder, can't tell if all are bad but my experience wasn't so good
>I like train rides too
Don't we all?
