I visited Myanmar(Burma) for 4 days. Here are my impression (from a Thai perspectives). I have photos of you want
• Mix between Thailand and India. • I was surprised that most people walked around in traditional sarongs • Surprised by lack of British influence • Burmese are annoying as fuck towards tourists. The will follow you forever to sell something no matter how many time you say no • The girls are kinda cute. Not all heavy bleached whitened artificial face like Thailand these days. Natural beauty • The girls are very innocent and shy. The opposite of sluts. The men and women are very conservative. • The pretty aren't emotional. Thais love to joke around and have fun but Burmese have neutral expression and sometimes Mona-lisa smile • The Buddhism is wierd. Couples holding hands and cuddling in temples (which is a total no no in Thailand). I even found a used condom in an abandoned temple. • People are very religious and serious about Buddhism despite some non-buddhist like practices • People drive insane. It's just like india • Burmese food is not so good. Not horrible, but not good. • Despite them trying to hike prices for tourists, every thing is still really cheap. Quality is also bad though. • expected more of a military state. I barely sense a government presence • There was even more Ladyboys than Thailand. Wow • Coupleswalk arm in arm. British influence maybe?
Yangon • Infrastuctureis pretty bad with horrible traffic • Downtown beautiful colonial era churches • The weather and climate is pretty awful there
Bagan • Nice climate • Beautiful temples. So many of them
• The restoration work on the temples is atrocious. It would be better if they did nothing • Thelocals are absolutely horrible. Don't be friendly or chat to them. They will try making you feel guilty and sell something. • Beggars are everywhere in the country side. They chase after cars like zombies. Scary • The locals literally lay around all day. They don't do anything productive. No wonder they are poor. • I don't see a single cop. Almost no government presence
