How come they never placed one in Medieval Europe?

How come they never placed one in Medieval Europe?

So much potential.

It was in the crusades in Syria
It sort of evolved from the Prince of Persia series so the series always had strong links to the Middle East

They made a little teaser about templars in medieval france in the Unity prologue, was much more interesting than the rest of the game

>In June 2012 Ubisoft and in particular its French-Canadian subsidiary Ubisoft Montreal had to fend off increasing accusations of anti-British prejudice after trailers and box art depicting the killing of British Redcoats started to appear.[48] One site described the 'July 4' live-action trailer as "American nationalism".[49] Lead script writer Corey May defended the developers and publisher Ubisoft from allegations of bigotry and discrimination.[50] This controversy, however, continued because marketing materials continued to depict only the British as the enemy,[51] with a number of gaming news outlets noting US trailers cutting scenes that did seem to depict the protagonist killing Patriots.[52][53][54] The publisher eventually decided that the Limited Edition of the game wouldn't be sold in the UK or Europe.[55]

>Anti-British Prejudice
No such thing. There are only good sensibilities.

The game was actually not "anti-british" but the marketing certainly did feature the main guy killing a lot of redcoats.

Assassin's Creed should've never been about time travel and ancient aliens. It should've been a historic anthology series.

Not many enough.

They do? AC2 is set in late medieval Florence and Venice

Japostan when?

Asia would be awesome actually, tons of potential there.

Instead they just rehash the near east/mediterranean thing over and over. They had one in China and it was the shittiest one of the series.

They take such a good concept and just rush games out every year without enough time for development.

It was Renaissance.

It's set in late medieval Italy if you consider 1492 to be the cutoff for the late middle ages.

Middle ages ended with Rome in 1453

I think 1453 is the cutoff too (middle ages start with WRE falling and end with ERE falling) but some people prefer 1492.

1492 is absolutely gay stay with the fall of the greek larpers

I was taught to view 1400 as the roughly the end of the medieval era.

you know why?

this

Acre in AC1 was pretty much just that, at least in terms of medieval aesthetics.
