The UK had a really hard time convincing Serbia to some of their lands to us, and then the German representatives just came and basically told us "Whatever you take, it's yours!". Considering the aftermath of the Second Balkan War, this was a really hard offer to resist. Besides, we'd historically had good relations with Germany and A-H, and even our monarch was German.

Bulgaria overexpanded and got BTFO'd by a coalition in the Balkans prior to WW1. Not many people exactly liked them. Bulgaria had claims to Macedonia, parts of greece and the pieces of Romania's coast. AH and Bulgaria could act together to counter Russian allies in the Balkans, it was a pretty good alliance actually

Bulgaria explicitely joined on the assumption that Greece and Romania would join with the allies, as they were friendly.
Bulgaria hopped in early in the hopes of taking shit from Serbia, and then fucking Greece and Romania in the bum.
As all the other posts in this thread have alluded to, and something I didn't feel was necessary to restate. The entire reason for Bulgaria joining the C. Powers was to get revenge for the Second Balkans War.

Italy was in a defensive alliance and AH attacked first, they were not bound to fight for AH and Germany. Also Italy had its own ambitions for the balkans and former ottoman land
