> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

>sell at lowest point since open
>stock continues to grow without me

I'm the retard yesterday that bought a GPRO and CBS put. The GPRO put wasn't a big deal, the CBS one is ripping my asshoke to shreds. Thank God I all in'd USO or today would be much worse. I said I would post my embarrassing losses though.

Blessings upon you

sell on open*

Anyone here know how to value securities?

I've been looking at EGO and I do not understand how the business as a mining concern has a book value of 4 billion, but only generates ~22 million in revenue each quarter and has negative cash flow.

How is that even a thing?

damn SPY just blew right through the 20SMA. its good some oomph behind it for once. might look for a little scalp into close but at this rate, i doubt it

Damn something just damned on my retarded brain

You only have to have the capital to buy 100 AMZN stocks and then you sell weekly OTM covered call on it.
It should net you about 1500$ per week.
Just think about it : 160000$ isn't that much money

always learn more through getting btfo

>160000$ isn't that much money
Eric is that you?

earings on CBPO today after hours, buy or die?

Attached: buy or die cbpo.png (608x581, 51K)

Newbie here using TD Ameritrade because a friend referred me.

Does anyone use a written trading plan they adhere to? Or do you just trade on a whim?

Currently overwhelmed with all the resources TD Ameritrade has to offer but I've been trying to make use of them and Investopedia.

>those GEL earnings

Attached: tenor.gif (220x224, 176K)

Yeah that's true, and honestly the money I lost just cut into my SNAP put I made, so I only lost profits not base capital.

why do you like the earning coin flip so much? Seems pretty random to me unless you have real industry or company insight

Buy, lose all your money, and realize patience is probably more profitable than gambling on earnings

Watch "The Producers".

how much time do you have on the GPRO puts? i think it could very well dump into close. the sentiment seemed pretty negative still. if any of the indexes turn you might end up ITM

I am a former business owner and 160k won't even get you a shitty retail store
It won't even buy you a tiny flat in a half-decent city

With 160k you can buy 100 AMZN shares and then you sell covered calls against them
Last I saw, even the slightly OTM weeklies are trading for 15$, which gives you 1500$ per week, or 6000$ per month or 72k$ per year !
Even if things are not that rosy, you can reasonably expect at least half of that, and I would definitely be happy lhaving 3000$ income per month.

The spread on the options is fucking terrible, stay away from this user seriously.

Ok. What manga is this? Is it good?

They expire on the 11th, there is still time and it's a $5 put so not impossible. I only dropped $35 dollars on that one. The CBS put cost me $118 that's the one that hurts and it's going to expire worthless. I knew what I was getting myself into though.

If you are a retired grandma, do whatever trading plan they suggest. If you're like, 20 and make decent money you should attempt to trade on a whim, after several hundred hours of research.

Now is a tricky time to start buying stocks and bonds. I'd stick 90% of whatever money you have into a money market or short-term US treasury bond instrument and play with the remaining 10%.

For a real gut-check, buy shares in MNK. If you can hold it without vomiting, you might just make it.

you sell the front month or weeklies?

my jap lines are saying 5.60 is the ceiling for GPRO, and then we will see the swingers jump

i still think the sentiment on the ER seemed pretty negative as they are still entirely unprofitable even with the new tax cut. i suspect reality will set in sooner than later. i have the 5/18 ones

I just have this idea
I personally don't have that kind of capital

I would sell the weeklies to benefit from the theta decay

I'm 27 and trading stocks on a whim with my savings of $10k lol

I really don't know much about other types of investments but I'm doing my research. Bonds are just less risky forms of stock, right? Smaller returns for more security?

uhhh I have BKS puts. $5 and $4 for July. Are we still in a consensus that it'll fall?

$MTSL

>THE AGE OF THE BULL IS OVER

>THE AGE OF THE BEAR HAS BEGUN

Attached: Age of the Bear.jpg (1920x1080, 706K)

most retail traders probably trade bond futures which are super leveraged, so no

BKS has been annoyingly resilient, it's really hard to say at this point.

And think of GPRO business this way : they are just another trinket maker that relies on marketting and special snowflake hype.

Much like AAPL or Razer in my opinion.
I admit AAPL is the better off of the lot. It is difficult to sense as to why they will grow in the near future.

i know
yeah sure they make nice cameras
and its a niche
but everyone already has one that wants one
i just dont see their potential for any kind of longterm growth. hence i think this last pump is on the back of swingers who will leave pretty soon (maybe even before close)

I have some big doubts on the remaining growth potential in smartphones and honestly.

Sweet thanks for the tip user

First

And personal computers honestly*

>a

>notched

Yep, there's not THAT much more to be done. I don't expect much more than gimmicks and then thereafter some kind of standard for smartphone features and size to arise.

Hope you bought TVIX

Real bondholders buy bonds for $10,000 at a time. You might look into whatever credit union or bank you brokerage with money market account. MM's are always simply mutual funds that do nothing but buy short-term bonds, ususally treasury bonds. This has the net effect of +1.68% interest, less than inflation, but better than it sitting in your checking account.

Stocks are portions of ownership (and control) of the corporations that issue them. Shares have real value, independent of the price you might see the for sale on the stock exchange. Remember this is a legitimate ownership of a real business, even if you have 1 share and own the equivalent of an office chair in that business.

Bonds are debt. You are loaning money for an agreed amount of interest and an agreed date where that principle you offered is repaid. The key is buying debt below it's face value. So, you are offered a bond, at 5% interest, for 10 years, at $1000. It's NAV is $1500. $1000 + 10 years of payments at 50$/ year.

Also I would HIGHLY recommend paper trading for 2 to 3 months before you use real money

It's better to use a small amount of real money, that way you know what a loss actually feels like. It's not the same with fake money.

>its another parabola day

That too but he needs a system down first

The business of selling trinket is not a good sector for investors. Except if you can spot the next big thing before everyone else.
There are only so many useful humans on earth with sufficient disposable income

I have read stuff about new dental prosthetics. ALGN has been wrecking reports after reports.
The valuation is overly rich but for those who believe in the hype, why not.

There's a lot of improvements possible, like power consuption, wafer level 3D integration or microled displays, but no revolution that will cause everyone to drop their phone for a new one.

>Yep, there's not THAT much more to be done. I don't expect much more than gimmicks and then thereafter some kind of standard for smartphone features and size to arise.

Same thing happened to TVs over the last two decades. After integrated WiFi most things were a gimmick. The price of them crashed overnight. Glad I got out of that industry.

Thanks for the clarification, so you would suggest bonds over stocks at first?

Is paper trading just simulated trading? I'm trying to develop a system but still in the process of learning fundamentals.

Screw paper trading >:D

that's very simple. Simply said based on what is estimated to be in the mine (total amount of for example raw copper) is worth 4 billion.

Out of the 4 billion total estimated amount they extract 22 million worth of copper each quarter.

Higher risk investments yield higher returns (when they return). Typically in order of least risky to most risky it will be:
Gold/commodities>Bonds>REITs/Mutual and index funds>Blue stock>Pink stock/crypto

Most investments fall into one of these categories unless you start looking at special securities or CDs and shit. Some people make a killing in stock, some people get shit on. My family was in Enron heavily. We were and now I am diversified across all of the above to mitigate risk. Typically as you get older you pull out of the more risky shit and start to go into less risky shit.

Read "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" if you get the chance.

Why is the secondary bond market so incredibly gay? I want to buy IG corporates with 1-6 months left on them but the secondary market has minimum quantities of like $50,000.

Is this just a Fidelity thing or are small retail investors just being squeezed out of the secondary bond market?

I am no Bog.

When will today pop? its at peak parabola now, The sellers are only treading water right now letting the algos give them more upside to short.

Thanks a lot for the advice user, what is the suggested reading about?

I'm opening an IRA account with $3k but I'm not sure how to manage it. I was thinking index funds?

P up 25% after missing earnings horribly, how is this possible?

Attached: 1524611437332.png (608x811, 503K)

If your brokerage offers a commission-free S&P 500 ETF just dump it into that and never look at it again unless you are buying more.

>after missing earnings
you obviously didnt read their call, they did great. revenues up 10%, subscription revenue up 60%, number of subscribers up 20%

Then why did the miss EPS by almost .20?

This CFO and CEO should be brought up on charges. Running a Ponzi scheme and NASDAQ has them listed still. This will end badly. Madoff.

This is such bullshit. Pandora is a trash service compared to Spotify. Who the fuck pays for Pandora?

I'm not holding Spotify, but I'd like to.

eps was higher than anticipated

pandora has more north amercian users than spotify

what's a pandora ?

The expected EPS was -.38 actual was -.55 how was that higher than expected?

analysts wouldnt lie to you, would they?

Sure it's possible, but is conspiracy really what you're going with here?

Hurry and buy Nutanix before you lose the chance for gains. Also obligatory shilling for Twitter, OKTA, SHOP, GRUB, and PYPL before you’re priced out as well!

I did end up buying IQ today. Not much though.

its better than 'wall street is so dumb they're raising the price of a company that didnt beat their expectations.' you're looking at the wrong numbers.

I'm down 14% on QCOM since I bought.

Go ahead and laugh at me.

Fell asleep, was long night....

Not laughting, it's pretty bad news for the industry I work in.
