latino is an ethnicity though, regardless of race. and what i mean is, if you were to talk through the streets of bogota for example, one would take note of the fact that even blacks are just like anybody else. they work the same jobs, have the same accents, eat the same food, and practice the same religion as the general population. the racial segregation that we are accustomed to in our own cultures does not run naturally in latin american society, but rather is perpetuated in some instances by socioeconomic differences (rural amerindian populations vs the spanish ruling elite, for example).

these people do not appear to both be latino. latino is an ethnic term, meaning it pertains to shared culture/language. there are brown/black/white/asians who are latino, but the person on the left appears to be an amerindian living in a latino country. meaning, he does not appear to be catholic, consume latino pop culture, speak spanish as a first language, etc.

Okay, but as you can see in the picture i already posted, Ana is a Castizo person, here ethnicity is practically 100% European, then you have a person like this girl wich is a mix of god knows what, also latino, and the guy in the left of my original picture who is pure Amerindian.
All of these people are Latino, even though they have a very different ethnical profile.

i think at this point we are merely discussing semantics. latino is an ethnic term. ethnicity pertains to culture, sometimes but not necessarily related to race. you are using the term ethnicity when you mean to use the word racially.

If both me and a guy from Zimbabwe went to South America and got in touch with the culture and spoke the language we could be considered Latino because there is no definiton for how a Latino person should look like.

if you were to look up the dictionary definition of ethnicity, you'd realize that ethnicity pertains to a shared cultural/national background. bear in mind that latin american countries weren't founded based on a shared racial lineage like old world countries, but rather geographic proximity and shared culture (catholicism, spanish language, etc). an amerindian living in the amazon, while technically living in a latino jurisdiction, likely identifies with their tribe much more strongly than they do with their nationality.
