I really was surprised with good beer when I was in Budapest. Didn't expected.

Any of you lads like sour ales?

Usually not. Very occasional. Stout and porter guy here.

I've had some interesting mocha stouts lately, but the names escape me. I also saw a sriracha stout a while back and was disgusted by the notion of it. What are popular beers over in Russia btw (type, brand, whatever)?

beer is haram

Craft fever is still here and not going anywhere. Bars and bottle shops pop up here and there. It was IPA obviously couple of years ago, but now I see more and more people buying cherry, pineapple, mango, etc. beers.
My favorite Russian breweries would be Jaws, Saldens.
People who don't care much about beer usually just drink Czech style lagers here.
Also craft beer is about 30% cheaper than classics (like Guinness) here. Even imported. So it attracts even more people to it. Is it so in US too?

Craft beers are on average more expensive where I live than other beers, but the alcohol content is often higher, plus the taste is better. Lots of people around here get into beers somewhat superficially though.

Just to paraphrase:
>I'm really into beer; I love the new Sam Adam's IPA.

Maybe that makes me sound like a snob, but over here you have to have a decent talk with someone to find out if they really like beer or if they're just fronting. Granted, I live in bumfuckville.

Despite what I said above, I do in fact enjoy many IPAs. I've never heard of that beer though. Is it an import or just American style?

That one on the pic is local, just American style. But... I think they import all hops and barley from other countries anyway. So local here would be water and labor.

I really like IPAs too. Sometimes double IPA with extra hops and ABV. What I really dislike is a new wave of hazy IPAs. Some sorts are getting close to cereal for amount of stuff in liquid.

Even tho it hurts to admit belgian beer is simply superior

What your thoughts on Czech beer?

Volkovskoye IPA, Khamovniki Venskoye

But Pilzenskoe is better, though

been drinking Guinness a lot recently

>doesn't have at least two favorite beers per category

I like rough cider / scrumpy so perhaps it's not surprising that I don't mind the occasional lambic beer

Its pretty good especially considering its usually very cheap

If I understand you correctly, I feel the same about a lot of beers over here adding grapefruit and other such nonsense, but I've only had a couple of beers labeled as "hazy" and enjoyed them. Perhaps, it has a different connotation in Russia?

Good beer talk btw, but I'm probably gonna fall asleep.

I wish we had more high-end European stuff around. This looks tasty.

Czech pilsner > German pils
German Weisse > any other wheat beer

>If I understand you correctly, I feel the >same about a lot of beers over here >adding grapefruit and other such >nonsense

Yup. Also some breweries just don't filter the beer to make it look more "craft"

Anyone on untapped?

I really like this one. Unfiltered and tasty, small brewery, not overhyped like some others.

How would you rate Paulaner Weiss?

Pic related is my favorite, but usually I drink shitty Saverne 8.8%
Drank Jeffe once. It was lacking in taste in my opinion.

Not much. Venskoye has nicer taste

Nigger even my country has Leffe, how can you not find it where you live?

Pretty smooth.

Czech beer (Prague) and English bitter

Not enough bitterness. Watery a little bit.

pic related, probably
This.

No one’s said bitter yet appart from me I am TRIGGERED
it’s literally the best beer, the best if you’ve tasted it

Can I start with Fullers ESB?
At least I can find it in bottle shop here.

>tfw Guinness was mentioned only once

Sure, but if ever you go to the UK I would recommend going to a nice chill pub in the countryside and getting some English bitter ale, you will not regret it !
But yeah you can always start with the one you mentioned

What I find really strange in European pubs and bars is lack of choice. In Prague it would be Pilsner Urquell and maybe something else. In Germany usually one type of helles and one type of weiss. That's it. Don't you guys want more?

pic related but Leffe is god-tier too

Attached: 798161.jpg (1200x1200, 110K)

We go to different pubs in different countries, it ain’t far
Also, why would the countries in question promote beers of other countries or do you mean why don’t they make more different local beers?

we inherited none of that and basically every single beer which isn't expensive as shit is larger

I was sitting in a really good pub in Germany recently, but they had only Augustiners. I wanna try like 3-4 different beers even similar style. Should be good for tourism. Maybe its freshness they care about, so not put too many taps

Too hot for ales
