You do reliaze they get that money from your taxes?

same, but i get paid 10 times more than you

I play with the cards I was dealt. Life may be better in Europe but I'm not European so it's not worth thinking about

Which taxes? I never worked
I doubt that. How much do you earn in gross salaries?

>tfw you got decent scholarship for years
>eventually managed to get a degree
>became a NEET, and stayed that way for 5 years now

All that money, all those years of effort trying to educate me, hoping one day I might become a productive member of society....flushed down the toilet

>be me
>be nerd, earn good grades
>write """science""" articles and papers in uni
>get $450 scholarship each month
>mama and papa give $300
>it's more than enough for an autist like me
who /comfy/ here

Attached: pepe-shadilay-with-sunglasses-remix.jpg (550x550, 70K)

normally i would be salty but i live and study in California. ill have access to some of the highest salaries in the world once i graduate, so that kind of balances out the whole fucked by student debt thing.
i would kill myself if i lived in the midwest desu

> tfw only have to pass university entrance exam to get a free university education
> tfw pass the exams without even preparing for them
> Tfw get into the exact university I wanted

you didn't, but your parents did. as everyone else that also works

750€ + 400€ student loan monthly

I think your shitty hasbeen country is gonna go bankrupt one day

My ниггep
I sometimes write articles for different magazines on various historical events and personalities and get paid for it. Truly the most patrician way of earning money.

Attached: vatnik pepe.png (550x550, 144K)

also if i do my studies in time, i only have to pay about 70% of my student loan back. so that is extra ~6k€ cashmoney for me

Nigger in September and for the next 4 years I'm going to earn ~1500€ a month.

you know that once you finish school and go to work you will be taxed to pay to people like yourself?

same thing here kek

there's no way they're giving you 1500€ monthly to study, or did you include student loan and are you working on the side?

Well yeah, but I'll be able to get a good job with the education id have gotten (not the same dood)

So do I. It's called grants and scholarships. Aside from buying some textbooks one semester because of a delayed check I haven't payed a dime.

If you have an IQ above room temperature university is free in America.

I'm going to be a state worker once I finish my thesis
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/École_normale_supérieure_(Paris)

Too bad there is downside to this. Eventually employers start mandating some kind of diploma for every no-brainer job.

>Which taxes? I never worked
Ladies and gentlemen, the problem with (social) individualism. This is also the reason why migrants keep voting for more gibsmedat: "it's not my money". The worst thing is that I can't even blame these people. This is why voting for the money of others simply doesn't work. I doubt this guy gives even half a flying fuck that the French economy is in the shitter. He'll just vote against Macron in the next elections in favor of yet another socialists who promises even more goodies at the expense of either greater taxes (choking French commerce) or more foreign loans (which are just taxes deferred to the future).

>Two hundred normaliens are thus recruited every year, half of them in the sciences and the same number in the humanities, and receive a monthly salary (around €1,300/month in 2015), and in exchange they sign a ten-year contract to work for the state
In 2018 it's 1496,29 € which is 1200 € in net salary.

*other people's taxes
FTFY

>*other people's taxes
Correct, which is why such systems only work in countries where there's a strong sense of national brotherhood or in-group altruism.

well it's not public school, so the students get paid a lot more than most french university students.
and that university is ranked as the highest university in france and you're telling me that YOU got in there? seems fishy to me

Who-oah! Poorfag alert!
I make 1500€ a month on welfare and I'm not even a student.

>allowing virtually everyone who has finished secondary education to sign up for university and giving money to anyone who is not really rich, with minimal attendance or academic requirements, ending up in hundreds of thousands of lazy fucks doing the same first year of uni three times in a row just for the money, does not have a heavy toll on both public finances and the quality of education
Your case is different cuz ENS is worthy of it but the current mindset in public universities is cancer.
For people outside of France, know that people actually demonstrated against having to be selected to go in masters' degrees. You read that right.

ENS Paris (ulm) is the best in france but you get paid the same in three other ENS.

T'es à laquelle du coup ? Lyon ?
T'étais à quelle prépa du coup ?

If you ever get a job it'll be yout taxes. I take it you arent studying for the fun of it

>I make 1500€ a month on welfare and I'm not even a student.
Why work then? This is a big problem with welfare in general: if it's not enough to live on, why bother? If it is enough to live on, why bother working? You aren't going to work for a small increase in living standards, you'd need a HUGE wage to even consider giving up your cozy €1500 "for free" lifestyle.

The problem is that the government -especially left wing parties- love this. They LOVE poverty traps because those stuck in one will always vote for more handouts, ie. for more gibsmedat. In many European countries this even means that formally "conservative" parties *COUGH* CDU *COUGH* have to play the game of the left to remain relevant. Because anybody breaking down these poverty traps is committing political suicide over something that will be fixed in the next elections anyway.

>mentioning scholarships in a thread about government financing education
Some states really suck dick for education in US but in California there is BOG waiver and pell grant

>allowing virtually everyone who has finished secondary education to sign up for university
Is it still the case with parcoursup?
>minimal attendance or academic requirements, ending up in hundreds of thousands of lazy fucks doing the same first year of uni three times in a row just for the money, does not have a heavy toll on both public finances and the quality of education
Well you're not wrong, but that is the case only for shitty license like history, sociology, etc... And you won't find these specimens in sorbonne or UPMC.

>Caring about the future
You know the entire pension system is based on old people not giving a fuck about the young who get to pick up the tab eventually, right? A lot of problems with modern society can be explained by either ignorance of or indifference towards economics.

On a pas encore les résultats des admissions mais j'ai au moins Rennes et Kchan et il y a moyen de chopper Ulm. J'étais en top 10 parisienne je dirais pas laquelle.

Every time you buy something you pay the VAT.

>free education
>4 300 Euro per month in salary after taxes

Feels good. Paid my loans off in 9 months.

Louis le Grand
Charlemange
Chaptal
Condorcet

Stanislas
Henri IV
Fènelon

Il y en a pas d'autre qui me vienne pour l'instant
Perso j'étais à Charlemagne mais j'ai arrêté.

>Charlemange
>Chaptal
>Condorcet
>Fénelon
>top 10
C'est une blague j'espère ?

>Why work then?
I don't. Lol!

Trust me, I don't blame you. I blame the system. Just be prepared that some time in the future the state will go bankrupt and you'll have to work. Though if you're lucky, you'll already be dead by then.

>Finland
>Going bankrupt
LOL
Finland is the world's most stable country. We will never go bankrupt and I will never have to work, why? Because Finland is the best country in the world.

Attached: 1524897710335.png (1119x619, 184K)

Bah de Paris oui
Enfin ça dépend, t'étais MP ou PC ?

Parcoursup is one step in the right direction but as long as everyone is given the bac and allowed to go to uni the quality of education can only go downhill. Those degrees in sociology or history are shit because of this very system, even if they're not "useful" they shouldn't have to be attended by retards who refuse the idea of having to put in some work to get a diploma. As someone who went to a public university in humanities I felt insulted (and the teachers too) to have to share a classroom with those people who think a bachelor's degree and a scholarship is a given right.

Not really. My country doesn't have a strong sense of "national brotherhood" but we still have student loans.

>free education
>paid off my loans
haha ok bud

Finland's public debt stands at 63% of GDP, its household debt at 67% of GDP and its deficit at about 1% of GDP. If these look like relatively good numbers, then it's because every Western country is fucking itself over in the same way. Finland is in that regard the least smelly turd.

>Muh stability tho
>Muh standard of life tho

I don't get what you're trying to say here. Are you implying student loans are some sort of welfare? Because all I said is that these systems only work as long as there's a sense of national brotherhood, ie "I owe it to my country to not be a parasite". I said nothing about the absence of such systems.

Yeah I agree. You should need at least to have a mention to go university. I don't even see the point to validate a license with 10.01 each semester.

T'as écris top 10 parisien, hein

Non j'ai écrit top 10 parisienne. Ça veut dire que j'étais en top 10, à Paris. Vu tes capacités de compréhension ça ne m'étonne pas que tu aies été à Charlemagne.

As if anyone gives a shit about debt.
USA has $21 trillion in debt. Do you think they'll ever be able to pay even half of that?

Country debt is BULLSHIT

People outside of California also pay exponentially less on college

The US has never missed a payment on it's debt though

>As if anyone gives a shit about debt.
Ah, here we go. There's the problem.

>USA has $21 trillion in debt. Do you think they'll ever be able to pay even half of that?
The USA also has the luxury of having the world's reserve currency, which changes that. Why else do you think they're willing to go to war over the petrodollar? If some major oil producer decides to price their products in euros or yuan instead of dollars, it's the beginning of the end for America's debt based system.

>Country debt is BULLSHIT
Because debts never need to be paid back, right? Look into the economic history of some major countries and you'll see an uncanny correlation between spiking public debt and welfare state expansion. A correlation for which there is a very logical causal link: the welfare state costs money, that money needs to come from somewhere and people hate paying taxes.

The US is going to turn mutt in 20 years and the mutts will turn you into Brazil 2.
Suck my dick, Amerimutt. You will collapse, Finnland will not.
You will have to work and you aren't allowed to complain because of your culture.
You are going to be paying for your loans until you're 50.
I'm going to enjoy living on welfare in Finland, the best country in the world, until I am old and dead.
Hahahahah!!!!!

Attached: 1532201910674.jpg (606x690, 135K)

Debts never need to be paid back immediately in full.
You said Finland has a lot of debt, I said no one gives a shit.
There's like 1 country with little debt and that is Finland's little brother and my back up plan, Estonia.
Hahahah
I win again.
Loser
How does it feel not being part of the Finnic master race? Probably feels shitty, well at least you have your drugs and your niggers.
Hahahahah!!!!! ENJOY WORKING WAGEKEKS

FINLAND = BEST COUNTRY
This is why all Finns will die for Finland!!! This is why all Finns are xenophobic!!! Because we're the best and dumb foreigners would ruin everything!!

The mutt areas of the US are the most developed sweetie.

You mean the big cities? Oh holy shit I am so fucking shocked my mind is BLOWN!! I can't believe it you defeated me so hard core !!!

Let me explain it a little bit better.
You have a rising beaner population. Your beaners are not educated. Intelligence is hereditary. You have millions of uneducated niggers. You can not win anymore.
China will win.
Guess who is friends with China? Guess who is China's gateway to Europe? Finland.
Finland wins again. You lose, dumb amerimutt.
You will work until you die.
Your kids will also work, be drug addicts, go to college and become gender neutral while I live in my based Finnic ethnostate getting paid to exist.
Suck my dick, faggot.

They stopped doing that over here if your parents arent unemployed somalis

Just call the cops

The sister of Ben Shapiro, I think.

it feels like I can only name one notable French university.

you will be paying taxes for the rest of your life until you retire

Bad
Though I could have studied for free.

>only going into 125k debt after medical school
>some classmates are going into 350k of debt
Heh should have been born in the upper middle class

Living proof that young men will trade their ideologies for boobs and a pretty face at the drop of a hat

your parents paid for $200k of college?

Not too late buddy, you still have a degree

If you take the right steps you can get out of this place

not 200k, more like 150k. yes, grateful

why? are you not confident about getting returns from your studying?

damn that's nice. my parents were making like $180k-200k (a lot in bumfuck midwest) when I was in college and they helped with books one semester but otherwise bought a new house and two cars for themselves and let me go into debt instead

Attached: 1532149103404.jpg (1140x798, 93K)

Shit man, I hope you're doing well now. Are you still in the midwest?

On one hand I feel bad for my parents giving so much to me, but on the other hand it's insane that colleges cost so much (can they even justify it?). It feels like a lot of our generation is tethered to or reliant on our parents, judging from how often people are moving back in with their parents

No, I am near the east coast now for my PhD. Luckily I got a scholarship for my full tuition and just took out debt for dorm living comfy. I only have like $10k now because I paid most of it with internships and shit. Shouldnt be too hard to knock out the rest, especially if I get a job with my degree (EE/optics)

>15k of student loan
>going to drop out in last year
>no job prospects
think i will just lose my credit and let the government (tax cucked wagies) pay it off while also collecting NEET bux...

What does that refer to? Didn't Hillary win the majority of votes?

Also, it's so fucking sad how Americans are conditioned to accept living like shit. No wonder suicide rates are increasing

Your country is literally overrun by non-european non-whites.

Congratulations, you get back a little amount from your taxes for """studying""".

Attached: paris.jpg (1414x610, 132K)

...

> Sweden
The pot calling the kettle black?

47% of Americans are so poor their income falls below the minimum threshold to pay any federal income tax.

Somehow I doubt this ex-jarhead makes enough money to actually pay taxes, but hey, good for him. I'd hate to have someone like him begin to feel aggrieved about what he's been willing to swallow his whole life.

Sweden is complete trash. The difference is I am not shit posting trying to claim Sweden is great look we get """paid""" for """studying""""

America is a million times better than France, Sweden or any other European """country"""

>fizetett az etyetemért

I got paid to go to grad school.

But yeah the American education system sucks. Our universities are expensive because we spend too much money on sports stadiums and campuses instead of actual education.

>Our universities are expensive because we spend too much money on sports stadiums and campuses instead of actual education.

Nonsense. Our universities are expensive because we want it this way. In this country, post-high school education is a privilege of wealth.
We don't want all the poors thinking that they can go to college and stop being poor. We need them to stay poor, because our social pyramid relies upon it.

The idea that they can take out loans and go into debt but still get an education is retained because if they were flat-out told "no, you can't go to college", they would revolt.

It's expensive because government got involved.

t. most of humanity

How do your figure? Our finest and most prestigious universities are and always have been private. The states maintain a half-assed system for the masses but it is remarkably cheap, by comparison, though the quality of education suffers commensurately.

For example, a year at my alma mater currently costs around 41.5k USD whereas our state universities run about 26k per year.
