Becuase people think it will go up in the future, or people need it to purchase alt coins which they think will go up in the future. The whole market, aside from BAT, ETH, BTC is vapourware and pure speculation. It is an interesting meta-market, where price is determined by supposed growth rate. That is why it bubbled so hard. Everyone said, "Hell, ill buy this at any price, because tomorrow, it will be even more!"

Speculation, 6k was a big support and it held, we went up and now people are starting to FOMO (fear of missing out) as they see the price go up and buy in to ride it.
How it is rising? Because more buyers are coming in than sellers. Supply/demand, but don't get tricked by this illusion, becuase there's no real supply/demand in BTC since everything is controlled by whales.
Crypto is the most riskiest shit you will ever get into because its all manipulated, but there are sick gains to be made because of it aswell.

ETH might be declared a non security by monday if not its shitfucked and people will mass exodus the market likely BTC will surge
