why?
don't live there
it may look ridiculous from above but I highly doubt that anyone who lives there ever complained about it
anyway this thread will get many yuropean posts about americans being weird and so on
Why do you retards think that all suburban areas look like the desert suburbs in Arizona and pheonix
Looks like Las Venturas suburb.
It's just an every day bait thread
Stop having children. Mind you, the rest of the world has to participate to, which they won't because they need to squeeze out 10 babies each for religious reasons
what's wrong with it?
Where do people living in that kind of suburbs ever work ? How long is their commute ?
Why would anyone want to live near a big road like that? Out of all the places you could build a suburb, why there?
You have to drive everywhere. Some of these places don't have sidewalks.
What does poor city planning have to do with having children?
It actually sucks living in a subdivision that big.
There aren't many access points and it causes huge traffic jams. Yards aren't big enough to do anything with the land and really you're just isolated. Also the houses don't appreciate in value (those got hit hardest by the recession).
It's not terrible but once something gets built on that scale everyone realizes we should do better.
Alot of buissness exists in the suburb actually. So it depends, some cummutes are not that long but sometimes you have to work in a big city which can be far.
It's quicker to commute
They were probably built about the same time (or the highway was significantly expanded that time).
Once you build a huge suburb like that, you have to build a huge road to let the people get out.
Separating the uses (retail, office, residential) makes these huge traffic jams. Especially when you segregate by income, like these subdivisions do. All the office workers leave and come home at the same time of day.
Well in the OP there seems to be a mall thing, and some schools. Is everyone there a cashier or a teacher ? Or do they just commute by highway to a city ?
Businesses are in the municipality, but don't exist in that neighborhood. Businesses are regulated out of the residential neighborhoods and into office/industrial parks so you still have to commute by vehicle.
Traffic is bad if you don't live in a sparsely-populated area.
Lol it doesn't have to be in the picture. It can 20 or 30 miles far and still in a suburban area or an the highway which is not alot here.
I can imagine someone feeling like this about it, what's the name of the movie?
>30-60 minutes away
>not far
wew
I always think it's weird how right-wingers love the suburbs then turn around and preach muh small government.
Suburbia only exists because of extensive government regulation and subsidies. In a free-market society you get something closer to europe.
Always leave space for nature
look my town,
we got everything we need civilization wise plus the forest just next door
It's a lovely feeling to be able to go running or biking without having anyone around
Yeah but at least in my suburbs commerical, industrial and residential areas are not that far away. I never drive more than 10 miles to do anything and In geneal I don't leave the 5 miles range
In my case it's 13 miles and 20-40 minutes at worse. But yeah but 30-60 minutes is not bad here.
My surburban area has alot of nature too. Op's picture used to be a desert.
Suburbs are in general empty and you can bike and jog as much as you want.
Looks like the outskirts of Lyon desu
Here you are generally seen as crazy if you spend more than one hour and a half in your commute everyday. That's why we laugh about parisians and the endless tracts of suburbs around.
The today's suburbs in America were "pioneered" by the jew Levitt hmm
>The leading pioneer was a New York developer named William J. Levitt. A former member of the Navy construction battalion known as the Seabees, Levitt knew how to build things in a hurry. He bought 1,500 acres on Long Island, and on March 7, 1949, opened a sales office — with more than 1,000 customers already waiting.
not the same feeling though
>Looks like the outskirts of Lyon desu
funny, it's in Provence
It's comfier than you expect
It seems a bit too green for Provence. I'm not surprised tho. Is that around Aix ?
Falling Down
Name one thing, good or bad, that was pioneered in the 20th cenury but not by a Jew.
Whites are simply outclassed intellectually. The only people making any new insights these days are Jews, East Asians and Brahmin caste Indians.
We dont really need suburbs. America needs villages, we don't have any after WW2.
All the advantages of suburban and rural living, none of the disadvantages.
Picrel was built in 2009 in viet nam.
>It seems a bit too green for Provence
Not really
> Is that around Aix ?
Yes, like 25 kms
Suburbs have taken hold in America because they were built for baby boomers. Suburbia is the embodiment of the boomer mentality.
>Vietnam
That picture is patheticly sad
>How do we fix this?
I know the places around La Destrousse, it's drier than that.
Is that close to Rousset ?
City council members/county supervisors in such places are bought off by the developers that build these suburbs. They return the favor by approving development of new subdivisions and spending public money on the infrastructure to support the sprawl, even though in many cases it would be less costly to build more densely around the city core. There is little that can be done to prevent this from happening in America’s current political system.
I mean..
Does anyone knows the price to pay for a house like those in this picture?
>what to you mean paying architects ?
>fuck them !
t. city planners everywhere
Bro, Some of us just don't wanna live next to j*w York. Also our suburbs are not that far from small cities where you can find anything.
I think that something like pic related, with maybe one extra floor would be comfy. Add some public transportation and you're done.
>I know the places around La Destrousse, it's drier than that.
lmao, it's La Bouilladisse, you can almost see La Destrousse on the pic.
How do you know the place?
im dum
Parents of an ex-gf of mine live there.
Don't know about that desert but public transport does exist in my state on a suburban level. It's not super available but it exists
Well, it's not drier than that my bro
Residential housing too close to highways?
I mostly went there in the summer and autumn, there's that. Or maybe I'm a retard who spent too much time in the mountains and hills there.
Next week I'll pass not far, I'm going to Bandol.
It's a very good place to live, do you work in Aix ?
>he thinks any kind of urban development is similar to New York City
Yeah, this is what's wrong with America.
Most Americans don't have any idea what a good neighborhood is and it's saddening.
My neighborhood is good to me. Nice neighbours. Great parks, Great library. Comfy small stripmall that I can walk to. There are like 4 local grocery stores..
I work in the area from Aix to Marseille and in between
>It's a very good place to live
It is, we are priviledged, very few non whites and a good calm spot near two relatively big cities
Anyway, Bandol is the shit bro, you gonna like.
>Nice neighbours. Great parks, Great library. Comfy small stripmall that I can walk to. There are like 4 local grocery stores..
Isn't that supposed to be a given ?
>Anyway, Bandol is the shit bro, you gonna like.
I know, I'm going there every year since before I was born, my grandpa built a house here :^)
That stuff is comfy. And you're right actually, an extra floor would be good.
Recently this architecture firm bought an old building like that in my downtown and added a story. It's done now and looks sort of like a French building.
>It's done now and looks sort of like a French building.
Not really but it's not bad either.
Looks cozy, far better than a souless slab of gray 10+ stories cement commieblock or a glass and steel skyscrapper
Well yes but people want make it that surburbs are hell on earth which is not true.
Where I live they moved the highway underground.
>It's done now and looks sort of like a French building.
It doesn't
It is also shit because it breaks the style of the place.
Oh look, city scum complaining about everyone not living in the same cramped apartments they do in the middle of a crowded city
>hurr durr muh soul
get with the times, boomers
> no town river
Not cozy enough, sry
Found a more recent pic. It's expensive lofts now. American gentrification is actually cool.
Closest thing to French you'll find in my redneck city, kek. I meant the extra story on the roof reminds me of Haussmann buildings.
Suburbs are not hell on earth. America needs a big dose of "gentle urbanism" to make suburbs and cities cozier. Not skyscrapers, not subdivisions, not strip malls with parking lots. In between like picrelated is optimal, 4-5 stories and redpilled architecture.
i just want to blow it up desu. might make some cool ruins
Suburbs cost our government hundreds of billions of $/yr just to exist.
Either get rural or urban, suburbia is shit.
What a retarded post. American suburbs are supposed to imitate more the picture on the left than on the right.
BOMBER HARRIS, NO, STOP
Ok, come here and build some cozy spanish buildings.
Land is cheap and jobs are plenty. Come home spanish man.
There is nothing to do in rural areas and cities are too crowded. Suburbs are in between
You guys would not buy it because you would rather commute for 3 hours each day than live in the same building as a nigger even if there are like 100 people living there and 99 are "white".
The bricks really kill any pretense of looking french honestly
And also you guys already have normal places other than suburbia and skyscrapers, you just have to build more.
You're pic related is good enough.
Actually most American real estate is multifamily lately. Gentrification is all the rage right now....it has been for several years. Americans love to buy fancy traditional apartments, not memeing.
Ok.
Kind of saw it when I went to NY last year.
Still, there are a fuckton of suburbs and getting rid of the useless ones is simply not possible.
There's a lot more to do in the countryside than in copy-pasted American suburbs
Looks comfy, reminds me a lot of California.
Rural areas have beautiful parks, libraires, and nice small towns?
beautiful nature and small towns are the whole point of rural living, how can you have a small town in a suburb
libraries are pointless at this point, you can get anything digitally
Parks? There's nature. And countryside is generally where you can find comfy small villages, yes. American suburbs are the complete opposite of small towns.
You can borrow books from a library so you don't need to have one a few minutes away from your house at all times.
that right there is more or less my dream town
Next to my suburb there is a small town.
In every 10 miles you'll find a small town in the north east
I know, thinking about all the bombs you guys dropped there it's pretty disappointing they are not back to the stone age.
All the signs and visual noise and clutter turn me off a bit
Yeah thanks to our investments
>raze country to the ground
>lobby and fund construction companies to rebuild
holy shit, Americans were playing 5d backgammon all along
How small?
Yeah we smart.
12k people. It's the 3rd biggest town in my whole county
Picture theme
>youtu.be
>mfw original king crimson version of industry is not available on youtube
Fucking copyright jews.
Okay, that's not too bad, I was expecting some huge number. I remember reading about a "village" in Oregon or Washington that had a population about that size or even bigger, I can't remember.
Your don't have to fix, don't worry.
And by the way, Is this here?
In my city i live in walking distance (10minutes) from doctor, drug store, few different groceries stores and my job is 1 hour away by foot or 30 minutes by bus. Also there are two parks and 3 pubs in local area.
Try having that in that shithole "suburban".
sounds like a dream. Then again I'm CHI and probably prone to a yuropoor than anglo-jew american planning.
The american dream
