Lol this is accurate.
I lived in London and a lot of people there are really basic and lost in life. It was funny when I left and some people I knew got really offended as if it was a personal slight against them and their lifestyle. I guess it takes some major self deception to think saving all your money to afford a small shitbox flat in a literal ghetto is a worthwhile goal in life, and when someone shows doubt about that it can cause a minor existential crisis.
I feel like fetishizing large cities is more of a 90s thing due to Friends, Sex and the City, etc. Most young people now want a good quality of life, and you won't find that in a big city.
