Why do Americans have such a bad taste when it comes to housing?

I'm pretry sure alot of non American houses are tacky too but we are the only guys who actually whien about everything and expose it

Do people really think we live like that? Maybe 1%ers, but most live in much more reasonable, if a little bigger than really necessary, houses. And the houses are only big because in certain parts of the country, the space is endless, or the person that contracted their house to be built paid for it to be huge.

I like wood floors for the living room, carpet for the bedroom. I'm barefoot in my room and my feet get cold on hardwood. Otherwise I'm wearing slippers everywhere else inside.
