It'll probably never happen. Support for independence is at an all time low, and even those who support it tend to believe the question has been answered and Quebec will not be independent.
The parties advocating for independence are barely existent anymore as well. Polls have the PQ, the provincial separatists, in a distant third place in the next provincial election. The BQ, the separatists on the federal level, are doing even worse. More than half of their MPs (7 out of 10) have left the party and made a new party, Quebec Debout, which does not have sovereignty in its party platform.
