It's "cool" only among teenagers. Wish it wasn't so I wouldn't have started.
Very very common among teenagers and the working class.
It's bluepilled; I wish I could stop.
Mostly acceptable/tolerated, depending on the context/environment. I work in the rail and most of the civil guys smoke pretty regularly, both young and old, but that's just the culture of the job. At my university not many people smoke, although since it's a smoke-free zone that's not surprising. There's always be a bunch of students standing just outside the train station (which is right next to the university entry) that smoke. I don't notice too many people on my day-to-day travels smoking, but here in Australia basically almost everywhere public or semi-public has banned smoking, even a lot of bars now. When I (very rarely) go to clubs there's always plenty of people smoking in the designated areas, and all of them are my age pretty much.
Everyone is 100% aware of how bad smoking is, and nobody encourages it, but unless someone is a rude cunt they're not gonna start lecturing you about how bad it is. Australians don't like being told what to do or what not to do, and we'll do shit anyway.
it's only "cool" among teenaged girls. guys use snus.

You can if you want to.

Getting less and less acceptable.
