1. Windows 10 search. Windows 10 is notorious for finding different results for files from the same source on different search attempts. You may not be able to find a control panel. But do not worry: press win+r key. This will open a prompt where you simply can write control.exe and voila, the control panel opens.
2. Too much messages on lower right portion of screen? Go to the system -> notificiations and disable most of the notifications.
3. Locked screen you have to "swipe over" by a mouse or touch. You can remove this by group policy editor but it is the only way to get rid of this annoyance only proper for mobile devices and not on home PC:s. This is just silly from Microsoft.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Windows
Click on "new item" Name it "Personalization" Click on Personalization item you just created Insert 32bit DWORD in it. Name it "NoLockScreen". Give it a value of 1.

Back in the early versions of W10 you just had to click on the screen. Sure this is not a bug?

windows 10 works flawless for me all these people who complain about it and say that it's bad probably don't even know how pc works and they need to get a mac
Charles Parker
>a bug
No way of knowing if its bug or intentional feature
Bentley Smith
This piece of shit always tries to update, but also can't install it for some reason and just reverts all changes.
Tyler Butler
Yeah, it works ok for me too. No complaints. Except for Wildlands not starting a few months ago, but it's my fault for being on the fast ring and obsessed with the updates.
Robert Russell
I'm just waiting for Linux to have good DPI scaling and to easily handle UEFI partitions and I'm bailing
Joshua Phillips
Windows 10 is the best system but after clean install you need to spend 2 hours disabling shit stuff like Windows Defender that deletes cracks for games and all the stupid notifications then this system looks like Windows 7 but faster, better looking and with DX12
Kevin Wright
lucky you i used windows 7 for like 8 years and during that time i had 0 problems with it. i've been using windows 10 for a year now and there hasn't been a single day without problems with this piece of shit. literally everything is broken all the time. audio keeps cutting, sometimes my usb DAC doesn't work, drivers keep crashing, pc goes apeshit when connected to tv, desktop icons keep jumping all over and their size changes itself when tv is connected, file system freezes sometimes when editing files or makng news ones etc etc. fuck this piece of shit.
Ryder Mitchell
Windows 8.1 has been working well enough for myself up until now and hopefully for another few years at least. Don't really have much of an interest in upgrading to Windows 10, who knows what the future holds. Did you mean to post this on ?
Cameron Jackson
>I'm just waiting for Linux to have good DPI scaling and to easily handle UEFI partitions Wew.
KDE isn't terrible at scaling but it still gives me huge menus at 1440p with 1x scaling and you can't go lower. But it's way superior to GNOME shit which is either unusably tiny or unusably gigantic
Mason Brooks
how bout XFCE? at least you can change the size of icons and bars as you wish but I dont know about program windows, text and titles and such
Jacob Campbell
Windows 10 search never parses anything but the drive it's installed in for searches. Pajeets at MS think this is too much work for them so if you want quick access to your games/programs/specific files either install them on your main drive or create shortcuts on your main drive of whatever you are trying to access. I have a folder called "Put Shortcuts Here" under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs that I use.
Brandon Williams
>tfw Windows 7 by the way how much of a meme is the supposedly built in spyware in Windows 10?
I use this a fair bit for Windows 8.1. Takes a little while to start up but once it's running, it's pretty fucking powerful and results are instantaneous. voidtools.com/support/everything/

Why does this finb always post about windows what does he hide
I recommend shutting down unnecessary background processes, it will hinder windows from collecting info about your pc and make it faster, Google for a list and guide. Also delete bloatware and disable windows update.
Lincoln Wright
think it's the same as gnome.
Nathan Thomas
desu this >install ltsb 1607 >remove all the garbage from it >enjoy clean fast os
Oliver Collins
Oddly enough my Win 10 would crash on a weekly basis when I first got it. But now it just kind of works.
PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to change all the system files and settings to english. There are no fucking guides for anything in swedish and I spent 45 minutes trying to find the calibration menu for my gamepad which should've taken 3 seconds.
Brandon Sullivan
maybe it's just your pc being old and rubbish did you ever consider that option my biggest issue with 10 so far was it dying for whatever reason after I cleaned my pc(with unplugging every cable including SSD)
Adam Johnson
>it will hinder windows from collecting info about your pc >Google for a list and guide Cheeky.
Asher Nelson
>maybe it's just your pc being old and rubbish that cpu is i7 8700k btw
I never had a crash of any Microsoft software in more than 10 years
the only time it happened was when I was still new to computers in general, maybe 2002 or so
Jaxon Reed
>3071MB 1080ti I thought those cards had something like 12GB VRAM. Speccy bug?
Noah Hernandez
yeah it's bug. the only reason i switched to win10 is because coffee lake apparently doesn't(?) support win7
Ryder Howard
uwotm8? Might need some fidgeting to install, but it'll run fine.
Asher Hughes
I was talking more about the condition of pc than specs, pc itself is great try installing LTSB version of 10 maybe? that one has no gay stuff like windows store or w\e it's called and also lacks faggot shortcuts such as meinkraft in start menu
Cameron Long
i might try that later. thanks for the tip
Luis Cook
>disable windows update Isn't it better to use Linux or whatever at this point? Or >do Microsoft Office work (or whatever special software you need windows for) in offline windows >when doned, boot to Linux so you can safely use internets
Juan Carter
>because coffee lake apparently doesn't(?) support win7 Funny if true but wouldn't surprise me. Intel and Microsoft are pretty cuntish like that.
Blake Baker
Spyware is the least of your problems when everything else is broken
