Colombia

How is life in colombia? Has it gotten safer throughout the years? What cities are the safest? I dont hear a lot about it besides what was going on in the 1980s and 90s.

Like most of Latin America, the crime/homicide figures are a meme since they're mostly criminals butchering other criminals. None of that affects normal people for the most part.

The government here is very corrupt but is also one of the most transparent in the region and we have a more solidly grounded tradition of democracy than many cunts.

Also don't think you can get laid here. Latin Americans on the whole have a very normie/Chad mentality and women won't look at you unless you drive an expensive car you don't need or look like circa 1995 Brad Pitt.

>Like most of Latin America, the crime/homicide figures are a meme since they're mostly criminals butchering other criminals. None of that affects normal people for the most part. Also there are a lot of american cities that are more dangerous.
I was thinking it was that. Just dont get involved with those kind of people. Also how did your elections go?
>Also don't think you can get laid here
Im not a fan of people that go on sex tourism. The US is getting more expensive to live in good areas. So if i go to colombia it will prob be to permantly settle. The US dollar goes far so i can prob get settled in a good area

How will the new president be?

Bump

A corrupt neocon

>How is life in colombia?
Hell
>Has it gotten safer throughout the years?
Not exactly, as Colombian evilness doesn't disappear, it just transforms/reinvents (itself)
What cities are the safest?
Technically, none, but there are cities that are far more safe than others like, for example, the growing coffee axis capital cities. However there's nothing to do here but the most visited touristic traps in the country are near here (like Cocora valley, Salento and so on, which are flooded by foreigners) for those who like nature.

Coffee growing axis

You didn't live during the 90s, now is way better off, at least where I live

I been hearing the narcos crime and homicides been going down every year

My job may send me to Bogota for a week soon (consulting) what should I expect?

you will find a lot of cheap venezuelan whores.

define cheap desu. How do you rate the venecas?

When are you guys going to take back Venezuela

Nope, they charge sames as Iocals. Except one time last week on which I had threesome with two Venecas for less than 30 USD half an hour.

*Being robbed or scammed by a cab driver.
*Being shot dead if you're not careful with your valuable belongings (avoid showing things like cellphones or cameras in public as much as you can)
*Going blind for drinking adulterated alcoholic drinks (if you're one that likes to drink at public places) as there are many places in that shithole that serve that kind of knock-off liquor (if you're going to drink buy alcohol at big department stores or retailers like exito or whatever).
*Getting into a fight with a ñero, as Bogota's population is comprised mainly of them and those get into a murderous fit over the simplest things
There are other things but only if you're really asking for trouble

>*Getting into a fight with a ñero, as Bogota's population is comprised mainly of them and those get into a murderous fit over the simplest things
And ñeros are not honoroble fighters. You can get stabbed to death, or shot, in a fight with one (In reality, many homicides in this country are the result of brawls and quarrels that stem from intolerance as opposed to criminal activities and organized crime)

so basically Venezuela 2.0, thanks bro
I'll get the confirmation by Friday, but my boss mentioned something about Zona Rosa and Chapinero, and now that you mention it, what's a ñero? I want to guess ghetto thug nig

What's the word with chicas? not into prepagos, I mean normie QTs

>Latin Americans on the whole have a very normie/Chad mentality
Oye, speak for yourself. Chileans are huge weebs.

You know how cali and medellin is?
>brawls and quarrels that stem from intolerance as opposed to criminal activities
Thats how alot of murders happen in america also. Over stupid shit like road rage and depending if your in a gang area get mistaken for a rivil gang member

>Colombian evilness
???

It's a nice city, specially if you stick to the northern areas, that other colombian who replied you is a remarked crybaby, don't pay too much attention to him

Don't listen to that Costeño donkey fucker with inferiority complex. The Caribbean coast is the Haiti of Colombia.

So that where the bad areas are

How bad was Colombia really in the 80s and 90s?
t. watched narcos

>What's the word with chicas? not into prepagos, I mean normie QTs
I guess in the north of the city you could find them
>but my boss mentioned something about Zona Rosa and Chapinero
Basically there.

>what's a ñero?
It can mean many things that range from a low-class uneducated person with no manners whatsoever, or someone who has a really shitty fashion sense (for Colombian standards by the way) to someone who is violent or/and behaves like a delinquent (or is basically one).

Damn look how better it got. Some american cities are worse than thats

Im not costeño, you ñero scum.
I live in the Coffee-growing axis.

You just can't accept that the place where you live is one of the biggest urban shitholes in this country together with Medellin, Cali and the Atlantic Coast capital cities

>wahhh big cities are bad wahhh

Imagine how many unreported murders there were as well

How are the mainland cities

Are there any good places to live in colombia

I'm not sure what's the actual word for "maldad" in English. I guess you could also use "evil" (but I'm more familiar with it being a noun rather than an adjective)

yes, many

Literally Africa

Oh it's the opposite, and adjective ("malo", evil) instead of a noun ("maldad", evilness? evil)

What do you recommend?
There are more dangerous places in US cities

Can you get viagra/cialis over the counter?

Maybe some places

Bump

I know what you are trying to convey, I’m asking what the concept of “Colombian evilness” is.

Bump.

>don't think you can get laid here

Fucking kek.

I'm a 5'10" white guy. Getting laid in Colombia was a cakewalk. Girls would approach ME in the street and in nightclubs.

But I'm not a timid Jow Forums-tier beta, either.

I'm a /trv/fag. Lived in India for a while and have visited some 40 other countries, too.

Are a tourist in india

I lived here for a few years and am doing academic research in the country. But right now, I'm mostly just chilling and visiting friends.

Howd you like colombia.

Loved it. It was my first Latin American country, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Busy streets, lots of energy, and surprisingly hospitable people. Most of my master's degree was online, and I'd considered moving to Bogota to teach English until I graduated. Figured it might have been a fun way to learn Spanish and explore a new place.

Haven't been back to Colombia since, but I definitely want to go again someday.

Theres just something about that attracts me. I want to settle there.

It's a pleasant place, but perhaps not quite as safe as Colombiabro would make you believe. I met a few expatriates in Bogota. An Indian girl told me she'd been robbed at knife-point several times on the city's rapid-bus network, the Transmilenio.

I didn't have any problems but definitely felt like I had to keep looking over my shoulder. I recently spent a month in Mexico City and felt like there were lots of places I could relax, even at night. Conversely, in Bogota, you've always got to maintain some kind of situational awareness when you're out and about.

Comfy place, regardless. Would definitely recommend it. You can get pretty cheap round-trip fares from a lot of American airports. I flew from either Detroit or Chicago for less than $350 with Delta.
