3. hard mode: There are things in life you shouldn't just go along with. For example: the reflex test that you sometimes get when you go to the doctor. If some old guy with a white coat and hammer in his hand is coming towards you and wants to hit your knee, and you tell him "Fuck off you and your hammer!", then your reflexes are perfectly fine. You don't have to take it! And when you walk around the center and everyone keeps asking you to buy this and buy that, you don't have to go along with it! There's some things in life you simply shouldn't want to have/own. You'd want to _rent_ a catamaran! You don't want to own something like that, it's too much headache! I rented a catamaran once, just to feel good about it, and then sent it back. It's a great feeling to _not_ own something! Now if I'd rent a catamaran, I'd put it on a trailer, drive to the center of the city, park the whole mess on the handicapped parking spot, and when the police would eventually come and ask "Sir, is this your catamaran..?", I'd say "NO! IT'S A RENTAL!"

There's a trick to remember in which cases you need to put the verb at the end. It's the hardest thing to get over imo, but it really is smooth sailing from there onwards For example there are phrase delimiters/binders like (om)dat, and if you see that you should think that whatever verb follows after that will go to the end of the phrase (even if it's more verbs, all at the end) "Maar" is an exception, so the structure will stay the same as usual: "maar etc" I don't remember the term for the tense where you use constructions like "have thought" "heb geprobeerd", or "wil leren" etc, but in those cases the first part of the construction takes the second place in a sentence, like a verb should, and the second part again always goes at the end You already did this in your first sentence " I'm ben [bla bla] _aan het zoeken_"

Most people have a relative of varying distance who have died of cancer. National campaigns aimed at kiddies have also made it a bigger no-no. My dad for example will go beserk if I go around kankeren and will quickly remind me it was cancer what had done my grandpa in. And for tering. Not a lot of people die of tuberculose these days. A lot of people do not even know klere is from kolere. Some archaic word for tuberculose. I believe a lot of people simply do not know what they are saying. Tyfus... Idk really. Typhus death have gone down... but the social stigma was passed down? I remember being scolded for saying something similar to thyfus on accident as a kid.

i have a small discord server where i post short spoken passages with vocaroo, break down the sentences and grammar, and i also have an ongoing list of captioned songs and movies and such.
You definitely have to spend 1-2 weeks on sounds. Then you get into characters and radicals. Chinese grammar is ooga-booga tier so it honestly won't be a problem.
