I wish UK supermarkets would embrace the superior germanic rye bread you find in polish stores.

I can't really think of a specific polish shop here in Lviv but there are many old stores with Polish writing on the front. For example they will say Mleko (milk)

Polish people are the third most common group here in my town (i don't include brows because i don't count them as people). But most polish don't use their surname in their shops because it's horrible to spell.
I used to eat at a polish restaurant here in my town. Good food but i grow tired of always eat the same thing.

Yeah their food is good but not enough variety to remain palatable over a long period of time. Also slavic languages are just incompatible with the latin alphabet, it looks awful. Ukrainian has a lot of similarities with Polish but with cyrillic alphabet and it just looks so much more pleasant

They all adapt their surnames to latin script when they move here.
But it's hard to pronounce their surnames.
Ex:
My ex gf was Jaroszewski, and the restaurant was called "Skopinski".
Keep in mind that we, "germans", also have weird names to Portuguese and browns to pronounce.

...no, we adapted our surnames to latin back in early medieval times, before that we were most probably illiterate. We literally never used the ruskie script.
