I was generalizing to make a point that everyone has more pagan ancestors than Christian ones. Christianity is only 2000 years old and had to adopt pagan ideas like "Christmas" and "Easter" and Jesus being white/having long hair to be palatable to Europeans.
Most of my ancestry is continental Saxon German (inb4 56% mutt) so mine would be Wuotan/Woden and Irmin was a similar figure also worshipped by Saxons in Germany before Charlemagne destroyed the Irminsul

Obviously it was a bourgeois revolution. That is where it fits into history, as the bourgeoisie class taking power over society from the nobility. That does not exclude the revolution also being about freedom and justice. It was about abolishing feudalism, bringing about a capitalist society. It was a power grab by one class usurping another, if that's how you want to put it. But it is small minded and cynical to think that means that that is all it was about. Taking power from the monarchy, ending the old order, and placing it in the hands of the new revolutionary class was the result of the revolution, AND it was an advancement of the causes of freedom. The two are not mutually exclusive.
