It's actually a pretty interesting topic. Healthcare is extremely underdeveloped in parts of rural India, especially tracts of the Red Corridor which are effectively controlled by Maoist militants. The state has increased development substantially over the past decade, but large tracts of jungle still have their rudimentary health needs met by insurgents--insurgents who, in turn, train cadres and villagers to perform basic medical functions, like providing vaccinations, diagnosing and treating common wilderness illnesses and promoting basic medical literacy.

It's really hard to cover issues directly related to the insurgency (which is what I'd like to do) as a foreigner, since the government would probably deny the proper visa if that's cited as the reason.
