Maybe his Norwegian was bad? We are not as used to bad Norwegian as Americans are used to bad English. Our tolerance are lower (especially because most of us CAN speak English, so it's easy to switch over if you don't understand).

The fact that government funded education is described as socialist while all countries in Europe already operate with it should tell you something. All countries in Europe are socialist because we provide free education at the university level is the stance you are going to have to take if this is how you view it.

There are no relevant politicians in the U.S that are pushing for anything beyond what is already the standard in social democracies in the U.S. So I don't really understand how you can possible say that politicians are more socialist in the U.S, it's simple not true in any capacity.
