I've had long hair for most of my life - based mixture of genes I suppose (my grandfather is Swiss and everyone in my mother's family is Native american - ones that were kept away from most of the shitshow that happened in Brazil throughout our history).
My grandmother was on her deathbed and still had a head full of hair, same for my grandfather and their hair was still colored. My hair is so thick that girls are always jealous about it - I have 4 friends and literally all of them are bald/balding.

Honestly I don't have any tips - I always just did "the basics" and that has worked for me so far. Actually, now that I think about it, what I can recommend and what might work for you, is coconut shampoo/conditioner. The higher the coconut oil/water content the better.
