Skopje isnt that cheap and Montenegro isnt cheap at all. At the seaside that is. If you want cheap go to Albania, Ukraine and Moldova. What you could do in Ukraine and Moldova only god knows though, yes its cheap but theres also nothing to do.

There are a couple of neat tourist attractions in Moldova. I have a couple of Moldovan friends that came here to study recently and I mostly just want to experience life in their country (that and nationalism). Ukraine is probably just depressing shithole though, and I imagine Albania is unsafe and impractical for English speakers.

Albania and Russia are only "dangerous" because of mafia/organized crime. Baltic countries have a higher homicide rate than both. Yeah.

Without a doubt every country has to offer some nice sights im just not sure Moldova has many of them at all. For the life experience imagine it like Romania was 15 years ago I guess. But id assume people are super friendly there as not many tourists come along. In Albania ive been and its pretty poor as well even to Balkan standards. The people are friendly and open in the cities, in the villages rather disclosed. In smaller villages youd experience something between how youd imagine a non-radical muslim society, backwards and old people drinking tea and looking at you like an alien. Tirana is just your typical Balkan capital with all kinds of people. Friendly, like I said, cheap too. It has some good spots on the seaside but the roads are mostly terrible. Then again Romanian roads are also terrible so...
