After desegregation whites fled to the suburbs, but we had been building suburbs since the 40s and before that we had really weird modernist ideas about cities because everyone had been trying to escape the industrial revolution smoke from cities.

Developers in the US have had success reviving impoverished inner-city neighborhoods with “mixed income” projects.
It’s been noted that if ~15% of a large project’s housing is subsidized housing, it has no detrimental effect on the price of the market-rate housing.
So they’ll build some nice apartments with a few government-subsidized ones interspersed and it works out nicely.
The theory is to stop siloing impoverished blacks in their own neighborhoods and they’ll stop being violent nigs

African American culture has a negative reaction to academic success and ambition, and high achieving blacks will be bullied for "acting white", which keeps a lot of smart blacks from getting into high paying jobs, or even mid level positions. You see the exact opposite attitude in most Asian and Jewish communities, groups that both outperform American whites on the wealth ladder.
