Well, you are right, since you are looking for certain characteristics in a candidate to be your friend once you are mature enough.

But you can still have lasting friendships if you lower your standards a bit. If you don't like the person that you are making friends with just dump them without saying anything and look for another one.

I don't know how it is in Sweden but certain occupations like being a driver in the army can give you expensive licenses for free, like a truck license that will be useful in civilian life. Or even the air force if you are interested in aviation.

I would not suggest choosing the "most time spent in forest" infantry warfare units if you are out of shape and don't have any past outdoors hobbies that you have actually enjoyed unless you actually are passionate about that and don't just want into it for the "image" of it.

What do you even do with friends after high school? Nothing is new and exciting anymore, you have to work a job all day so you don't even have time to do anything than drink on fridays and I usually just sleep 17 hours on saturday and think it's bizarre how people at my work always find time for heavy alcohol consumption and recovering in time for monday.

Maybe in America there's still something new and ebin in life you can do like take a road trip to Las Vegas at 21 when you are finally allowed to gamble and drink
