And where on that timescale is over 12 years of delay so far? F35 seems to be in the middle of the problems, and stuck there, as the Eurofighter was at its 5-6 year. So by simple math, 18-24 years total delay maybe?

Neither of us knows shit. That's the problem. which is why, since no real information is out there, i'm voting to direct my tax money on something that flies. We've payed a lot already, but our fucking F16's are flying with ducttape and hotglue, they're literally falling apart. We need new planes, and USA can't deliver.

The F-35 has been in Israeli use over Lebanon and Syria. In Syria it engaged
and destroyed modern Russian short-range systems.
Norwegian pilots are also very satisfied with the F-35.
The F-35 is mainly being developed in an English-speaking country so every press release and "scandal" from every subcontractor is ready for immediate worldwide media consumption. European defense contractors don't face that problem.
