why did russia split from ukraine and belarus?
i get that you had to get rid of the churkas who were at each others throats, but why dissolve the whole thing? i read somewhere that the ukrainians and belorussians were more opposed to splitting than the russians. was it just yeltsin being a traitor or something else?

In real world Belorussia and Ukraine were more motivated to split. Here is photo of tank with Ukrainian flag in Moscow's center.
Even in late 1990s there were atempts of reunion with Belorussia.
