I've never needed to use one. I have 3 passwords, 1 for unimportant sites 2 for mid tier and the third for extremely important things. However I never use the same password twice because I use a permutation of each depending on what I'm logging into.

so if the simple password was: apple1 and I'm logging into say Amazon it would be for example Bapple16N . B because Amazon begins with A, the letter after A is B, 6 because there are six letters in Amazon and N because Amazon ends with N. So I just need to remember my rule and 3 passwords.
